There's got to be a very good chance that red will be over turned. So hopefully he scores 7 against villa to make up for this soul destroying match.

Based on the earlier red, that should be a penalty and an 18 month ban for Anderson...

First view I didn’t think it was a red due to minimal contact but the more I see it the more I think ‘thank god there wasn’t more contact’ as that was a leg breaker.

Studs up, straight leg, over the ball, continuing beyond the ball… it’s a textbook red card or are we saying they need to seriously hurt somebody before a red can be given?

The thing with VAR now is that we've seen recently arrive really soft penalties bordering on cheating that because they've been given the VAR say they cannot overturn it as it's not a clear and obvious error.
So in what planet is that challenge so clear and obviously an error?

See - I did not see it as a "Straight leg" I thought he was very flexible with it, such that is would never have caused much injury, even had their been more contact.

I think his leg was out - but was already flexed at the knee and ready to give on contact.

I would ask the question, was this no different to Dan Burn at the weekend if anything Dan's was were... The inconsistency is the problem, some are given and others are not...

Dan Burns was probably worse, but neither are red card offences, or at least shouldn't be.

The commentary on ITV last night said at the time it wasn’t a red card because there was minimal contact. The same could have been said for the red card given to Bissouma. Minimal contact but in this ridiculous phase of football we are going through at the moment with a VAR, it’s a red card.

Consistency is poor; the Nketiah tackle on Vicario should have been a red. It was never given, even though the intent was clearly there. The officials really need to make up their minds about how they interpret the rules.

I do not understand the outrage for the red when you consider the Bissouma red, I do not think EITHER of them are really reds if common sense is applied but if Biss was a red because of strict interpretation of the rules then so is this. The consistency is totally fucked as mentioned above, with the horrific challenge on Vicario.
