Definitely the type of player I'd prefer to see on the 'wing' i.e. not really a winger at all. Someone with a bit of technique, a bit of vision and a final ball.
Far too early based on effectively two 45 minute performances to be hailing him as the messiah (which some are already doing) and I do worry that he might become the new Giovani Dos Santos (i.e. everyone saying that he should play every time we don't win), but he looks like he could become a useful member of the squad if we use him correctly.
Would like to see him get some game time in the Premiership soon. Maybe Saturday will be the chance, although I wouldn't play him from the start.
Sorry I know we went over this the other day but I have to take issue with this TSH. I dont think anyone is calling him a messiah or that he may solve all the problems. Just speaking for myself here but I dont think Sigurdsson or Dempsey are working in that No.10 position and its now at the stage where they have had enough chances for now. Falque is seemingly the next in line so deserves an opportunity, I dont think thats too much of a knee jerk bit of thinking from myself and others, indeed I was calling for this prior to the Southampton match, one defeat hasnt influenced my thinking.
Everything I have seen from him is that he likes to cut in and operate centrally, I do take on your point that I saw elsewhere that starting him on the wing allows him to drift inside unnoticed and he wouldnt get this if he started in the centre, but I think its surely time to have a look at him and what he can do.

Really? Dempsey has had 6 appearances and Sigurdsson has had 9. Is that really enough games to write them both off, especially considering they haven't actually played off the one man who suits both of their games. I think maybe we're being a bit short-termist here, especially when the alternative is a player who has never, to my knowledge, even played in that position.
I don't think a Premiership game is the place to 'see what he can do'. Until we know what he can do (i.e. he's actually played there at all) I think it would be incredibly risky to pitch him into the first team.
I'm with TSH on this one mate, we can't shoehorn Falque in for a league game in the Number 10 role because he has looked promising cutting in from the wing.
Had a good game last night when compared to the rest if the dross( Bale Excepted),However what worries me is that he is not a kid. I think he is 23 next birthday and it worries me that he hasn't yet made it to the first team. Most top class players are playing regularly at 19 in the first team, not every game but regularly.
Not saying he isn't a decent squad player but I have my doubts that he will make it as a top liner. I hope I'm wrong.

Yep this is the right answer. Falque reminds me of (lazy comparison, I know) Mata a little and he has enough merits that he should earn a starting spot, not that the other two are shit.Really? I put this elsewhere, but here's my viewpoint:
Falque, while young, unproven and generally a huge question mark, could provide a spark this club could really need. Since Dembele has been out, there's been a pretty big disconnect in the link-up from our midfield 2 to our attacking front. Siggy and Dempsey are not at their best going on runs with the ball at their feet. Dempsey's a poacher, Siggy's a one-touch and make an incisive run type. Huddlestone, when on his game can spot a ball down the field like he's placing it there with his hands. The problem comes when he just continually looks to hoof it forward instead of playing the easy pass. As for Sandro, I think he's really showing signs of improving as an intelligent passer, but with all things, will take time.
Back to Falque: to me he represents someone that could possibly be a link from the midfield to the attack. A guy who's capable with the ball at his foot, moving forward, making smart passes, while knowing when to take shots, and take the outlet. Obviously this is all small sample size, but for a guy who obviously wants to impress, it's refreshing to see him know when the shot is not there and not opting for the glory (the shot/goal etc.) but the pass to set up the goal.
Quite frankly, the play of Siggy/Dempsey has been so lackluster that the bar is set incredibly low for Falque to match it. At times, it feels like we aren't even playing with anyone in that spot. Both have been anonymous for periods of the match which really shouldn't be tolerated. Perhaps Falque shines in the role and shows that he is plenty capable. Perhaps he doesn't and simply looks like a fish out of water. I think, even if he doesn't succeed, it puts Dempsey and Siggy on notice that they have to step their game up or alternative options will be explored.
If Falque does step up and play well in that role? My goodness it could be paramount to this club that is sooooo lacking in the creative talent. To me, the reward far outweighs the risk. Give Falque the start, if he's awful, sub him out in the 2nd half. But, for some reason (once again, based off small sample size), I really like the idea of giving a young, hungry talent the chance to start and really take over a role if he performs well.
