Becks putting them in for Osvaldo could be good, Crouch would only baloon them over before turning around and running away grinning like an idiot.

I luv the guy, not in a gay way, I would love to see him playing in the spurs shirt. He is the same breed, mentality.. and age.. as Scholes, Giggs, Neville etc. Did their age hinder Manure? You need to look beyond the age of a player and look at his ability, I dont see why some folk on here are hung up on it. We have a pretty young team, none of whom have the experience of Becks.

Couldn't hack it in Major League Shit in the USA, didn't come good until his final 6 months at Madrid, and I just plain dislike the guys completely egocentric attitude to everything he does.

Errr, he hacked it pretty well in the MLS especially given the initial hounding he was given by the fans/players when he chose to play in Milan as well - another example of his strength of character.

He was also very good at Madrid throughout and again overcame adversity when he was a victim of the bizarre politics of that club by proving himself to Capello once he'd been dropped.

Footballers egocentric? Well i never... (and to be fair, there are many more larger egos playing football than him - he's clearly got a massive amount of love and respect for the game).

Let's dig up Ghandi and use him then, because he has strength of character too, and is about as quick as Beckham. And no, not to anybody who watched all his matches (cough cough) was he very good at madrid. He was very good for his final months after coming through the adversity of being shunned by both Mclaren and Capello. Prior to that he had 3 full seasons in which he was very out of his depth despite having superb players around him who he should have thrived on playing with. And as for love and respect for the game... what, like wanting to play in the Olympics, something meant for aspiring young players, at the age of 38 just so that he can have another addition to his undeserved cabinet of glories at the expense of someone upcoming prospect? Perhaps the most selfish thing he, who has acheived and proved everything he needs to already, could do.

Beckham is no longer good enough to contribute to the playing side of things at Spurs, he hasn't been for a few years, and him coming to us would not be in any way shape of form for the benefit of anybody but Mr Beckham and whoever it is that can spell well enough to write his heavily spun autobiography for him.

BBLG is just jealous that Beck's hair is foppier then his!

he played a couple of decent balls in during the game but would be a passenger in the side and completely take any flow out of a game. I've utmost respect for what he achieved in his prime at Utd and Madrid but he is past being able to play to that level.
His influence on the England side prevented the progression of the side while he picked up personal milestones for caps. I would go back as far as 2006 that this was the case.
Good luck to the bloke but lets not get on that wagon unless he is gonna join as part of the coaching team.

Really what I am saying is I agree mostly with BBLG above :)

Beckham would be far too smart for most of the dumb ass defenders in this league, his positioning is brilliant, his first touch sublime,he would just play one touch football until he found space and then he would slam in a killer pass.
He would break down teams like Wigan,Blackpool,West Ham,Wolves and Birmingham with his eyes closed.

if we get beckham in november i will be very happy with this, his passing is still amazing, he has never been amazingly quick though so his lack of pace wont make any difference, his quality will though. I could see beckham playing for at least another 3 years.

Ok, you don't like the guy, we get it. Although i think this is probably clouding your judgement a little.

I too watched a lot of him at Madrid - especially during 2004/05, and i was impressed with him. As i said, the politics at Real Madrid make judging someone's achievements there very hard, look at Owen who was not given a chance even though Raul was utter tosh for a few seasons. Anyways...

Suggesting Beckham's no longer good enough to contribute to the playing side of things as spurs kind of lets you down as it's clear to anyone that he is. Are you telling me that anyone in our current team comes close in terms of dead ball/crossing ability? Hmmm... Ok, so he's not usain bolt - are you telling me he's any slower than hudd?

Or we can give lennon a guaranteed 90 for all of next season just so he can flatter to deceive. Again.

think you're badly underestimating the bottom premier league teams just as the likes of current world class players like Modric, VDV and Bale probably did

a brute like charlie adams would go through beckham like a freight train before he even has time to pick out a pass, his feet arent quick enough to shuffle out the way anymore

Perhaps we could start a campaign to allow a kicker to be brought on at free kicks like they do in american football. That would be a perfect role for Beckham.
