Davies was non existent! Aurier clearly doesnt want to defend! And is so indecisive with the ball but he did do some nice things when he did have the ball but not enough for me tbh.

Agree 100% they are not good enough. My thoughts on FBs from the transfer wishlist thread...

"After this Sheffield game, I'm fully convinced both fullbacks should be priority 1A and 1B. Simply having competent ones who can pass and don't bring play to a dead stop will take pressure off the CBs. Unless Mr. Walking Yellow Card (Foyth) plays lights out in the next few matches, I'd permanently move Sissoko there for the rest of the season. At that point, all you need is a serviceable DM...nothing great...maybe try Skipp or Foyth".

Our fullbacks are utter pants, midtable level at best. Rose is no longer the player he was, Aurier is just rubbish. Davies, might be a nice guy and all that but ability wise he is plain average-poor and is should be at a Southampton or a Watford.
KWP is so physcially feeble, really don't know how he has managed to get to this level.

Atal and Grimaldo in January. Those two would give us a TAA-Robertson level of balance between playmaking ability and pace. Make it happen Levy.

We don’t even bother to try quick switches of play anymore. Other players seem to have very little faith going through the fullbacks.

Not yet maybe. But he’s still very young. Can we afford to wait until he’s the finished article?

I would be all for it if you could see some real attributes to work with and improve but to be honest I don’t see anything that stands out physically or technically.

Certainly the area we're most in need of improving and has to be via the transfer market.

I felt the partnership of Rose and Walker in their prime worked very well. They worked tirelessly and we had two top quality centre backs at the top of their game to allow them free reign to go forward.

Finding two quality full backs in that image is going to be difficult and might not be for the best if our centre backs are not reliable.

Youcef Atal & Juan Foyth

(Jose Gaya/ Alex Telles/ Alejandro Grimaldo) & Ryan Sessegnon

If we have genuine aspirations to challenge insee these as the best, realistically achievable options.

Watching Norwich yesterday I’m confident that Aarons is not the answer. We need to look elsewhere
Aarons I see as someone that has Trippier level upside. I don’t see that he is talented to be a starter in a top 4 team, but I can see he can be a solid backup.
No point making an offer in January. Best to wait until Norwich is relegated and do it in the offseason.

Aurier is an embarrassment. Everytime he gets in a forward position he just cannons the ball into the defender. At one point yesterday he lost the ball in their half and went chasing after it to almost the left wing, forcing Sanchez to come out to right back to cover the space.

I struggle to remember a worse right back than him for us, maybe Dean Austin.

Thanks Poch, youve taken us back to the 90s

Foyth seems to like the position and he lays well, not sure about Sess, I think he is a forward now

Watching Liverpool's fullbacks just makes you realise just how shit ours are. We've known Rose has been on the way down for a while. Similarly quite clear, Davies and Aurier are pants and not suited to the way Poch want's us to play and so we desperately needed fullbacks. I actually feel sorry for Poch having to choose between that complete shower of options.
