Why single out full backs, the whole defence is a fkin disaster lol.
Seriously though I agree fast decent full backs are critical if you wanna play the way we do and they just arent good enough. Without them it just turns to AVB stodge.

Our fullbacks have been crap for years....since Walker left and Rose had major injury issues. We bought in Aurier but clear as day, he isn't the answer......mistake in the transfer market, it happens but look to rectify it but he is still here. Davies in his 6th season and still an average bits and pieces player who can't get ahead of a broken Rose. KWP unfortunately is blessed with the physicality of a scarecrow and until that changes, simply isn't an option.

These issues have been going on for years. Our CB's, even last year in Jan and Toby were doing well. Now they have question marks over their futures and maybe a natural decline, CB position has also come up for a potential renewal time. This is what happens when you don't address the needs of the team in a timely fashion.......eventually other areas will weaken and you are left with an even bigger mess to sort out.

It's more than the full backs are poor - Davies is ok defensively on the whole but limited going forward - but we try to defend narrow with the wide midfielder providing support its not working. We desperately need a defensive midfield player who sits in between the centre halfs . Currently we have no platform the centre halfs call the full backs in and the result is to many crosses coming into our box it creates pressure. We lose the ball and are exposed in midfield and none of the full backs including Rose provide any attacking impetus which might be why we continually come inside, yesterday we hardly crossed the ball into the box at all. No wonder the likes of Alli and Kane look off their games they need service

Sure thing.

He's not good enough

Which is odd as when he has played I don't recall him having a bad game really - perhaps not outstanding but certainly not constantly error prone and one to put out with the washing. Could he really have done any worse than Aurier recently?

Happy to go with Sess and Foyth as the full backs taking the learning curve situations as we go. Fed up with the jog trot recoveries of both Rose and Aurier while Davies is a steady Championship level player at best

Agreed, but the system has to change too, otherwise they’ll get ripped to shreds.

Davies was non existent! Aurier clearly doesnt want to defend! And is so indecisive with the ball but he did do some nice things when he did have the ball but not enough for me tbh.

You may be right about him, but in fairness, let's not forget he had a perfectly good goal ruled out away to Leicester by the most ridiculous and outrageous VAR decision in history, a goal which would have given us a 0-2 lead and a likely three points which we could well have done with, looking at today's table.

Just saying.

Aarons I see as someone that has Trippier level upside. I don’t see that he is talented to be a starter in a top 4 team, but I can see he can be a solid backup.
No point making an offer in January. Best to wait until Norwich is relegated and do it in the offseason.

We were 'reportedly' keen to sign Wan-Bissaka last summer but obviously were not prepared to cough up the £50 million for him which United did, but I'd like to give Foyth a decent chance at making that position his own. Clearly, Poch doesn't fancy KWP as he always chooses Aurier over him, which I find utterly bizzare.

Watching Liverpool's fullbacks just makes you realise just how shit ours are. We've known Rose has been on the way down for a while. Similarly quite clear, Davies and Aurier are pants and not suited to the way Poch want's us to play and so we desperately needed fullbacks. I actually feel sorry for Poch having to choose between that complete shower of options.

I don't understand how Poch needs to rotate ours all the time to keep them fresh yet week in, week out Robertson and Alexander-Arnold always play.

Yup, Robertson and TAA pretty much start all their games. I genuinely believe Poch deep down has accepted none of the options available to him are particularly good or suited to his system. Almost a case of picking who has been the least shit but that can quickly change from one week to another. He has been well and truly been shafted in terms of fullback options. Trying to make a case for one over the other is pointless, as ultimately they are all utter garbage and it has been the case for 2 years.

The complete shower he bought and has been training everyday for 1-5 years?

We knew this last season yet during the summer we heard Poch was giving him a chance... as to how he thought he was worthy of a chance in the summer and all of sudden not good enough after a few games in is bizarre. This blind faith also resulted in us not purchasing a new RB, another colossal oversight.

Bizzarely Davies has been signed up until 2024.

Sessegnon - we have no idea right now what position he was bought to play in. I guess it's a wait and see.

Yes to Atal. Quite like Aarons but seen a few positional gaffs, too. We'll probably go after Aarons on account of being young and home grown. Love Foyth.

Yet Poch has done exactly that. He clearly isn't good enough as he can't get in the team ahead of a terrible Aurier or an inexperienced cb.

There's only so much turd polishing Poch can do. Davies arrived the same summer Poch arrived. He was young and we took a punt but in in his 6th season now and the guys progression has been so limited. Don't know who scouted Aurier but again the guy is just poor and not even suited to the way Poch wants us to play. At some point, you have to hold your hands up and say these players are not up to it/moves haven't worked and move on.

As an example, Klopp couldn't do nothing with Moreno and got rid of him. Why we persist with the same players who are clearly not up to it, season after season, I just don't get.
