Does anyone watch much Italian football these days? Could it be that we might be a bit more willing to take a punt on this guy after seemingly not biting the bullet on Cavani, who is now probably worth about £50m?

6ft tall, fast, very decent feet, could play on either side of the striker. Scored 8 goals from 32 last year, not sensational but decent and he's just 21. When we were looking at Cavani for £15m he'd only scored something like 12/13 from 34 as a centre forward. The rest is history....

To me he seems the exact type of player we should be risking our money on. I'm going on a couple of games, stats and highlight reels though. Would be great to hear from anyone who happens to see a lot of Bologna!

I don't see a lot of Bologna but from what I have followed of Serie A he is very highly thought of. Been linked with Napoli and Liverpool earlier in the summer.

Defintely have a feeling about this one. As OpenHeartZoo said, he ticks a lot of boxes for us. Furthermore, he is at a relatively small club and a lot more gettable than many of the other players such as Hulk, that get banded about. Young, decentish price, affordable wages, not being tracked by the likes of Shitty, Madrid etc, ready for a move, looks physically strong enough, can play wide right.... Yep, I just have a funny feeling about this one, think we may have been doing some work on him in a quiet fashion

If the article is true that he is in talks I would say Liverpool officials have likely travelled to London to meet with him and thrash out a deal. Also think the fact they already have a couple of Uruguayans in their squad will work in their favour.

That would make sense, they won't want him to see the city of Liverpool until the ink on the contract is dry!

Well, he hasn't jumped out so far. Neat player. Not very quick. Eh. Can't judge a player on 20-odd minutes but this isn't exactly the 1970 Brasil side they're playing against. The enitre Uruguay side looks lethargic.

Great free kick by Gaston but UAE made Uruguay look like mugs in the 1st half. Their left winger looks a bit special.

Is it Ahmed Khalil? 'Cause I agree, he looks some player. I had just heard good things about Khalil coming into this tournament.

Yeah Omar was the one I was talking about. Only 20. Hard to judge on one match but ATM i'd prefer him to Ramirez who seems tidy enough with his passing but sloooooowwwwww.

This article was just recently posted:

Bologna winger Gaston Ramirez continues to be linked with a move to the Premier League after his agent revealed he is currently in London holding talks over a possible move.
Ramirez is expected to leave Bologna this summer with various media reports claiming he is attracting interest from Inter Milan, as well as Premier League duo Liverpool and Tottenham.
The 21-year-old is currently in England as part of Uruguay’s Olympic football squad, and it appears his agent, Pablo Bentancur, has taken the opportunity to meet with an English club in London to discuss a potential move.
Given that Benancur is in London has led many to believe that he is in talks with Tottenham, but he refused to reveal the identity of the club.
However, he has hinted that England now appears to be his client’s most likely destination.

Wouldn't it just be good business by his agent to be present in London for the Olympics in which his client is playing in? I don't think it necessarily means "Hey, he's in London, Tottenham's been in on him, oh Tottenham is in the lead then!"

Maybe but Uruguay only play one game at Wembley in the groups stage. Could have easily based himself up in Manchester where the first game was played for instance. Closer to Cardiff etc.

Anyway, They're asking for nigh on £20m for Ramirez I think? Pass on that thanks.
