Another fantastic free kick from him a few minutes back. Proper dead ball specialist.

He does look a real quality player. A shame that I can't see room for him in our team with Gylfi and Rafa knocking about. Great dribbling, passing and finishing ability and good with both feet. If only he had some pace about him he could almost be ideal for AVB's Hulk role. Oh well.

I actually think it's kind of hard to tell what type of pace he really has. He's being used in a central midfield role which will limit the chances to utilize pace. Uruguay is really just using their midfielders to distribute upfield to Suarez/Cavani/Hernandez quickly without holding much possession and going for runs. I know that a lot of the things I've read on him states that he does play RW at Bologna at times but he is pretty versatile with his ability to drop into an attacking midfield role as well. The free kicks are awesome, and it'd be nice to have a right-footed specialist in Siggy and a left-footed specialist in Ramirez to utilize. His passes have been spot on, the one run I do remember looked nice except he had a hard last touch into the keeper, he has shown a nice first-touch. He looks very good in my opinion.

He's just been annihilated by Mane on the right wing - flew past him.

Gylfi at £8m looks the better buy. Maybe if we were looking to get rid of VDV, it would be temting but there's no need honestly.

Gylfi was a fantastic buy I agree. He's such an ace on free kicks, and he looks so good in attack. I can't wait to see how he performs with the 'real' Tottenham team around him (Well, at least I hope this hasn't been 'real' team).

Yeah, and now he just had a bad tackle (and booked) for what looks like trying to overcompensate due to lack of pace.

Should have been sent off - 2 dodgy fouls since his yellow card. Great free kick taker but not a lot else.

There's a vid of his highlights v AC Milan on the net - he scores in the game but he constantly gave the ball away/ran into the opposition players.

Surely he would be seen as cover for VDV but we now have Sigurdsson so we don't need him.

Somebody on another site who was at the Liverpool game said that what you can't see on the tv is how many interesting, positive runs Glyfi makes to get into good positions and how he's always looking for the next pass. I think that's what I like about him most - he's industrious as well as talented and seems to have a good brain for the game.

This is from Ramirez's agent

"Spurs have also made an offer for Gaston Ramirez, according to the Bologna forward's agent.

"The only solid offer is the one from Tottenham, who offered €16 million [£12.6m]," Betancourt told Calciomercato.

"But the deal didn't go through because Spurs offered too low a wage to the player and if the wage difference is minimal he would stay at Bologna.

"Tottenham could raise their offer if they sell Modric and in that case the deal could be done, otherwise Ramirez will stay another year at Bologna. We also talked with Liverpool but nothing more.

"Inter Milan are interested in the player, but cannot afford to offer cash as the teams in the Premier League."

I would love to know if this is true. I am pretty sure JJ said we weren't interested in Ramirez a few weeks back. Although I suppose he could of meant we weren't interested once his wage demands became known.

I think Ramirez is still fairly raw, and would benefit playing our style of football. He could flourish at spurs in my opinion.

Or JJ could be wrong? Maybe?

saw ITK that he was at the training ground yesterday. That's pretty good. Any info on if he posed with a shirt?

Now signing for Southampton. Bid accepted of £11.3m and he's agreed terms. Just the formalities left now.

There are quotes from AVB saying that he isn't needed because he plays in a advanced position and we have cover in those positions.

I hope that he has the no10 role in mind there rather than the wide positions, because we most certainly don't have sufficient cover on the wings.
