RB Leipzig confirms that they've made an official bid for RB Salzburg's Erling Haaland.
Doesn't the new rule in CL this year let a player who has already featured in the CL for his previous club, also makes him eligible to play for his new club in the same season?

Who would have thought?? :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

New rule took effect last season.

I assume this also means that if he were to sign for Man United, he can play in the EL even though Salzburg dropped down into that tournament?

Don't think that would have been a problem even with the old rules. I'm guessing Salzburg would have to register a new squad for the EL and if he switched club before that then he wouldn't have been registered or played in the competition.

I guess so. Weird if it only complies with the same tournament

Almost surprised they aren't putting Leipzig-specific clauses in.

10m for RB Leipzig or 50m for any other club.

Dont they have different owners now? If they had the same owners they wouldn’t be allowed to both play in the same European competition.

Yeah, completely different owners. Leipzig is owned by Red bull, Salzburg is owned by the co-founder of Red bull.

:LOL:

Minamoto confirmed to Liverpool, they really didn't mess around with that one. Such a low release clause makes it easier of course.

Liverpool. That's how you maintain proper title challenges. You identify players that can improve the overall quality of the squad and get these deals done.

While we play catch up all the time.
