Gone under the radar a bit but Tariq Lamptey, the young Chelsea RB who came on against Arse in the Christmas period and did well, has turned down a contract offer and been sold to Brighton.

Another supposedly big prospect deciding to not bother with Chelsea's loan policy when not seeing a path to the first team. There are a few of them now.

So many loan deals.
A natural consequence of the smaller teams not needing to sell thanks to the money in the PL nowadays and clubs keeping their powder dry for the summer when better players are available.

Tom Carroll has left Swansea. Not to anyone, just released.

Things sadly really didn't work out for him. Lovely passer but so, so slight.

I think it a consequence of the transfer fees getting out of hand too. It's a lower risk to pay a smaller loan fee before committing to the full sum.

That’s a shame as he seemed to settle well onto their team initially.

Christ Carroll is 27. Where did the years go. Wonder if that mad Chinese super fan still knits dolls for him.

Great deal for Chelsea. Getting a player in his prime for a snip in today’s market. Because they’ve got so many young players they can sell for big money they don’t really have to worry about his resale value with him being 28 next season.

Sancho apparently told Dortmund he's leaving at the end of the season. Enormous profit coming their way
