He has the talent but his focus and work rate has a lot to be desired. Really, if we wanted to try him out we should have got him of Inter. Not worth more then 30/35 mil imo. Maybe after another good season, but he is culpable of brain farts.

Hasn't he been pretty poor everywhere outside of La Liga? Don't think he was impressing much at Monaco as well as Inter. Seems like a risky proposition.

So that's that then...

Google Translate:
"I read several pieces of information about an open negotiation of Tottenham by Kondogbia.

After confirming it with their surroundings, they deny absolutely everything and they make it clear that the octopus only wants to play in the #VCF. He already rejected the Premier for coming here and nothing changed in his head."

Lol if anyone thinks Levy will pay 70m for a player just purchased for 25m
Couldn’t agree more this makes no sense whatsoever. I’m baffled. All window we wait for a deal then this????? Surely Daniel is smarter than this to pay £72m for a player that can’t even get in his national team?

Not seen a lot of him but after a couple of youtube clips he seem to benefit alot from his strenght and size in La Liga, Im not sure that would work as well in PL.

Thiago > Kovacic > Ndombele > De Jong > Kondogbia

Very different type of players...unfair to compare them - if Wanyama is injured we could do well with Kondogbia
Thiago and Kovacic would give us more much needed creativity

He was a hot prospect at Monaco, who bought him for 20 mil of Seville at 19 and was something of a cuop when Inter bought him. He was horribly miss managed at inter but he also was a mess. He's the kind of player that you could make a YouTube video of him playing like Viera. He will have moments in games were he genuinely looks world class. But that is backed up by poor positioning, lack of focus and a tendency to get the hump when things don't go his way. I haven't seen enough of him at Valencia but it seems like his sorting himself out. Wouldn't spend big on him tho. Not after 1 season in Spain.

This is more my preferd list in order than whos better than who. I think Kondogbia is better than De Jong as for now but not in the long run.

If we got those two we'd 100% be in the hunt for the league.
Frenkie de Jong has a huge step-up to suffer if he comes to the PL trying some of the sh** he pulls of at Ajax. Their last big MF star that was touted is struggling in Germany so I will wait before making proclamations on this one.

Diawara does look like an interesting player at DM and has since his bologna days. Is he expected to start this season?

Either way I would be happier to hear these two names instead of the many we have been linked to because they at least address our area of severe weakness.

Personally really like him - energetic, constantly getting stuck in and very decent on the ball. More a box to box than a pure Cdm in my eyes however he could play the dier/Vic role and play the dembele role which is a big bonus.

Might also allow us to move Dier back to CB which I think is better for us and Dier.

Was highly respected at Monaco then struggled at Inter but So did everyone around him - feel like he’s been around for ages yet is still young

70 mil though, wtf. :wideyed::eek:

It sounds silly but they're exactly what we need. Diawara is brilliant and I think he will go to the very top. If we got those two what are our weaknesses?

Inexperience at CM. Diawara started 5 games in the league for Napoli last year.
