Levy should call Kane into his office tomorrow, and when he walks in and sees Bale and Reguilon sitting there with Levy drinking a coffee Levy should say ..."There's a new contract on the desk for you to sign, gives you parity with Gareth".

Just had a horrible horrible thought. With business already done on Doherty and Hojberg; Bale and Reguilon seemingly also in the bank, and ITK about moves for Weghorst, a big money midfield loan and potentially more, it's got me thinking.

The last time we had our shit together this much on transfers was the summer of 2013, when we sold Bale and bought the Beatles. I really hope it's not the case that the transfers we are now making are a precursor to a surprise deal for Kane to leave before the end of the window.

looked like he already had his bags Sunday. Dele, Son and Moura running all over the place while Harry jogged around was a glaring contrast.

The thing with Kane is it’s been shown he needs to play to get sharp again.

Like us after play resumed last season, he weren’t so hot at first but as he played more he really started to step up again.

I just really really hope we do get this back up centre forward so can manage him a bit better and avoid any further nasty injuries.

Mourinho says he will play tomorrow. We need him to or else I don’t know where the goals come from.

Not sure why anyone doubted he’d start tomorrow. Clearly needs the minutes and Sunday - Thursday - Sunday is no different to Saturday - Wednesday - Saturday if we were in the CL, and we need to win this.

Can't lie there's a small part of me that is worrying about this. Or could be a Modric style one more year agreement. I doubt it but it isn't outside the realm of possibility. Hope we are wrong.

Like when we bought Lineker and sold Waddle before they ever played together.

I thought the same I'm guessing a lot of us did. No harm in that really. Don't try and think too far ahead. Just enjoy the ride. (y)

Just thinking out loud but inevitably Kane and Bale will end up discussing life in Madrid and Bale's experience playing for Real. Hopefully Gareth will be in Harry's ear describing all the negatives that come with it as well as the positives and it may change Harry's mindset towards an eventual move. Feel free to hit me with the optimistic ratings

not only that but he hasnt had a pre-season, 2 England games and the Everton match isnt enough. minutes for sharpness and hopefully a confidence building goal or 2.

In normal circumstances I would expect that he would have been back at base with Dele and Toby

Cannot see him moving this year, expecting his third child in the middle of a global pandemic. Family needs are likely to be at the front of his mind. If we start to win trophies this season he could be very happy to stay on indefinitely

We aren’t actually spending that much money are we....

If we were doing what Chelsea are doing then yes. But unless we are selling Kane for 40m then I doubt it

We could, you know, just be showing a bit more ambition

Yeah that’s unlikely

I've come to the conclusion that kane is the really poor trainer here rather than Dele.
The start of every season seems to take him by surprise.

Then after injury, he just wants to get out on the pitch as soon as possible, rather than fully build up his strength and speed. He plays himself fully fit and at spurs, a world star like him has that luxury.
If he moves to one of the oil clubs this or next summer, where he would have genuine competition for his place, he would not get away with it. The crowd would get on his back if he just trotted around, and he'd be subbed.

And you can't have the england captain sitting on the bench - we wouldn't do that to someone with that status. Kane loves captaining his country and spurs would accommodate a talent like him, one of our own, even to the detriment of the team. It is something he needs to weigh up when considering his options.

Nah.

I’m usually cynical and pessimistic when it comes to Spurs, but it’s not the same as that summer.

For a start, Bale has already been openly tapped up and we all knew he was leaving. Plus we haven’t actually spent that much money this window ( even including Bale and Regulion).

That summer in 2013 we were agreeing big fees all over the gaff with seemingly very little negotiation. It was so outside our m.o. it was obvious what was happening.

I can't possibly find a way to disagree with this post anymore. How many times have we seen interviews with ex pro's, managers, colleagues etc... who shout from the roof tops about how much of a model professional he is?! He is always referred to as an extraordinary trainer who leads by example and works incredibly hard.

What is the issue with him wanting to get back out on the pitch as soon as possible? We would all be complaining if he refused to make himself available for weeks because of the fear of becoming injured again. At the end of the day, Harry doesn't pick the team, the manager does and it is up to them if they want to play him.
