To be fair I think the fans have ruined the relationship with our players already, at a certain point the players probably stop caring when the relationship has no value to them as it's clear how fickle our support is to individuals.
Not having that. Our support are not fickle. We put up with far more crap from players than most top teams.

Not sure if Chelsea can afford him if get Europe and after all those long-term contracts they’ve already handed out.

Plus they need to meet financial fair play regulations (allegedly).
They'll be selling lots in the Summer I would assume.

Chelsea might get lucky and sell a few at overinflated prices. What did they need to balance? 100M? 2-3 players might be enough.

Prices will only be overinflated if they are selling within the PL. Europe won't pay much they ain't got it.

I'm sorry, but in this day and age, do you expect fans to go to games, watch utter shitshows and a Club that has been run into the ground for the last 4 years and fans to just sing oh when the Spurs every 5 minutes?

Personally, I'm tired of managers who think they're above us and players who also think they're too good for us.

I want Harry to stay, but only if he wants to stay. I'm done begging managers to want us, tired of feeling like Harry is too good for us (which he is). This massive inferiority complex we have is the root of all our problems. Mentality goes a long way and it starts from the fans. Sides like Sevilla (Europa League) and Real Madrid (CL) have this feeling or rather a deep rooted club mentality that they'll do well in certain competitions. We have the same thing with failure.

So if Harry has to be convinced to stay, I would rather see him go and start a rebuild with a manager who wants to manage us and players that want to play for us.
I think perhaps it would be best for everyone to simply make peace with the fact that loyalty in football is now (almost) 100% transactional. Fans will show their support when they like what they see on the pitch, but will withhold that support (or become abusive) when they don't. Players will stay at a club if the club can give them what they want - trophies, money, a chance to play, etc. - and will leave once the club can't do that. And managers will work for a club when it matches their career objectives.

There's no unconditional love, loyalty, or support in football.

Poch wants strikers to press. Kane has lacked that since the last six months of Poch’s time here. He also has Lukaku coming back. Who also doesn’t press, I can’t see Poch going for Kane. I can see Boehly going for Kane, in a system that won’t work for Poch anymore. It screams nonsense on all parts to me. If Kane leaves us, I can only see him fitting Real or Bayern. They can accommodate him.

You’re absolutely deluded if you think Chelsea won’t go for him on a free.

Kane will threaten Levy this summer, “Let me go to United, or next year I’ll go to Chelsea or Arsenal on a free and humiliate you.” It’s the only play. It’ll be personal between him and Levy after the City move and will get nasty.

Taking into account how they themselves felt about the trajectory of the club the year we hired Nuno, what would you consider the way a lot of Spurs fans reacted to Harry trying to leave a couple of summers ago? How would you then consider their feelings towards him once that situation abated? How would you consider some of the fans response towards Hugo in response to his downturn in form after years of dedicated service?

Keeping in mind that we're not talking about every single Spurs fan, we're talking about the vocal fans and we have to consider that those are the fans the players hear from both in the stadium and online.

I get where you're coming from re: Levy but I do think Kane cares about his legacy. He is happy to go to Utd or City for example. However, if he went to Arsenal or Chelsea it would put him in the same ballpark as Sol Campbell and I doubt he would think its worth it. If he tried to bluff Levy with that I suspect Daniel wouldn't blink.

I think its as simple as sell to Utd this summer or he goes to Utd/City for free next year. The third option, signing a new contract, is still viable but a lot will need to change between now and the end of the year. Nagelsman and new major investment may help..

Yeah your final paragraph is absolutely spot on. And tbh I still don't see the why he woukd risk going to Utd now. They've had a better season than they have in a while but are they guaranteed to win trophies which is what he wants? I don't really think so. City's the only guarantee.

I think you underestimate the enmity towards Levy at the club now. Would Kane really join Arsenal? Probably not. Chelsea, maybe. But he’ll certainly use the prospect to get his way this summer. He’s not waiting for the final year to wind down like I thought he may.

There is zero chance of him signing a new contract. Again, delusion, if anyone believes it. This is gonna get very messy this summer.

I suppose it's all about the direction of travel. I think he has been willing to stay with us if we have been progressing. He may consider that Utd, whilst still not great, are on an upward curve whereas we have flatlined.

In answer to that I think things change very quickly. Even at the start of this season Utd were viewed as a bit of a basket case. If our Club can someout sort out the sorry mess we have found ourselves in we can start on an upward curve quite quickly and the narrative can shift.

Yeah again I completely agree. If nagglesman comes in say, and we start doing well and rotating for europa/have no Europe then things could look very different very quickly! The joy and pain of football I guess haha

Plus they buy a couple of the world’s best players every summer. Varane, Casemiro, Eriksen, Kane himself. They’re gonna keep spending til they hit the right formula, whereas we buy from a couple of sections cheaper.
