Absolutely. Skipp has left the squad so needs to be replaced.

He was still very much part of our first team squad last season.
He has been replaced with Hojbjerg. We also have Gedson. Midfield is no longer an area of concern IMO, in fact we are overstocked if Sissoko isn't sold.

midfield is a problem still because there are so many games coming up and Winks/Sissoko are not adequate back up at defensive midfield, yes we have Hojbjerg but we can't play him every single game and now Skipp has gone we don't have someone who is a back up for defensive mid

Agree to disagree. The general opinion was that another DM was needed last summer. Granted Gedson came in but hes anything but a DM. Come to think of it I'm not sure what he is....

Never seen him play but our last set of transfers from the french league have been terrible. I would be very wary adding to it.

But I do believe we need another central midfielder in. Especially if we can sell Sissoko ?
Yep agree but the last players from France were not chosen by Jose and let’s be honest,Jose knows a defensive midfielder when he sees one.

Fair point but we do have Gedson, and I think Dele could play there if required.

Oh yeah forgot about Gedson!

Maybe he’ll be a bit more involved next season as integrated a bit more and yes Dele can play there.

Good shouts.

This guy is a tall DM, played in nearly every match for a relegated side who shipped goals for fun?

Not for me. This guy screams failed Everton or Newcastle signing to me.

I recall one Idrissa Gueye who played for Aston Villa, was very good for Everton and next sunday will play in Champions League final. Pretty sure there is a lot of another exaples.

Kante played for Caen who finished 13th and shipped 55 goals in his last season there.

Okay I've found it. On February 1 2019, the official Toulouse FC twitter account announced that Sangare had extended his contract. Here's a French media report from that day saying that the new contract expires in 2022.

He's got two years left on his contract, which is consistent with Toulouse holding out for €15-20m.

Nice work. He could have a relagation release fee clause in that contract - guessing here but that might make it more of a possibility.

I'm all for this signing. Partner Sangare with Hojberg as the CM2 and we're conceding far fewer goals this season. Hopefully it also means that a 433 will be utilized much more to get the best out of GLC and Ndombele.

So current list of transfer targets & acquisitions as far as I can ascertain from all the snippets of info out there:

Hojbjerg £15m
Hart £Free
Skriniar £Swap with Ndombele
Wilson/Quaison/Diallo £15m-£18m
Sangare £15m
Doherty £20m?
Castagne £15m
Estupinan £15m
Sabitzer £35m

--which is 9 players for £130m! (although sounds like might need to do a loan deal first for Sabitzer)

We can raise the cash by selling and loaning this lot:

Clarke (Loan) £1m
Parrot (Loan) £1m
Skipp (Loan) £1m
Sess (Loan) £4m
CCV £2.5m
Amos £4m (guess, undisclosed)
Foyth £15m
KWP £12m
Rose £5m
Aurier £17m ish
Sissoko £18m
Lamela £25m
Ndombele £Swap
-
£106m could be raised against purchases.

I mean, that would be a stellar window. Absolutely incredible. I wonder if we'll end up opting for a home grown CB if Skriniar doesn't work out - that was mentioned by someone in the know. Also relies on finding a buyer for Lamela at a Levy price.

The point is that some people get a bit worried by wholesale changes - I wouldn't be - we've tried the other scenario of sticking with the same bunch and got nowhere. Didn't José bring in about 10 players in his first year at Chelsea and they won the title?

I know these are rough figures but no way do we get 25 million for Lamela- we’d be lucky to get half that

Who needs scouts when we've got PrettyColors who can jump on Wikipedia, check his stats and write him off in 30secs without ever watching him play :banghead:

This is going to hugely upset you, given this is a massive discrepancy, perhaps an insurmountable one when you’re trying to peer into the Netspend mind of Danny Levy, but it sounds like Amos was sold for around £500k as there’s some add-ons/sell-on fees.

Has there been any real links or info thus far, this is one of those signings I get my hopes up for usually.
