Don't get me wrong I'm no Levy hater he's been good for the club, no doubt when ENIC came in they had a solid plan to make the club a success. Unfortunatley for them the Oligarchs came in and changed the Prem forever and blew them out of the water. Now they simply can't/aren't prepared to put in the amount of money now required to compete with the big boys, which is fair enough, not knocking them. Stick or twist though, without the new ground they won't get the desired return on their investment and the new ground's still just a pipe dream atm no matter what any of you think. New owners are needed but as a fan it's a massive gamble as to who takes over, more likely than not a knob. This is all my opinion nothing else

As much as many on here will disagree reaching cl then not qualifying again fir 3 years proves enic have hit their ceiling. Cue sp with a long drawn out reply as to why I'm wrong

Agree totally, been saying this now for months - levy and enic have done a good job and deserve a lot of credit on a number of fronts but they have hit that the ceiling. They simply can't compete financially with what is needed to establish us as a top 4 club.
There will be the occasional triumph but fundamentally getting us regular CL football is beyond them.

Its hard being a Spurs fan sometimes, having to rub shoulders with so many negative people who just plain throw the towel in at the first sign of adversity!

4 games to go and top 4 is in our own hands still.

We can still qualify and we will qualify!

I cant see us beating Chelsea at home. They know how to win games where as we choke. I also cant see Arsenal dropping points regardless of if they lose today.

Even if all the above happens we still have to win all our games. Going on form thats not likely. All over I'm afraid. Levy OUT!!!!

Oh dear.

The OP is correct though. 'its the hope that kills you' perfectly sums up life as a Spurs fan. I wouldnt have it any other way though.

It is not negative throwing the towel in, it is... It is having to learn to deal with the endless string of disappointment and let downs, by ducking for cover behind the sofa, then waiting for the dust to settle. At which point, we poke our lil heads back up with our big bright beady eyes shinning, happy we survived another season. Which, then inevitable follows and we duck back behind sofa's and wait for the screams of agony and attempted suicides of those who have yet to successfully master this trick and greatly increasing their life expectancy.

It is not negativity (y)

Better than the purgatory we had for almost 20 years.

The reason we have hope is because we are good and can be great. I got to the point of never thinking we would make CL just dreaming. Harry proved me wrong (and I will be eternally great full). Now I dream of one day winning the league (step up AVB).

All things being equal (without new owners shoving in £millions).

Chelsea would be gone (bankrupt) as would Liverpool, and City wouldn't be anywhere. Utd would probably be the best team in the world though.

i appreciate that that's why in my second post I put any new owners would likely be knobs

But who would buy us? Are there any more oligarchs or sheiks? I really don't know if there is anyone left out there who would buy a football club and invest. We also have FFP which could go either way.

At the end of the day we're not doing bad for what we are, and that is closer to Everton and Villa than Arsenal and Chelsea.

Agreed. Anything could happen between now and the end of the season, so I've retained some optimism, but generally speaking I'm prepared for the inevitable disappointing conclusion to the season.

Your half right, what cost this year and last year is we desperately needed another forward.
They dont have to cost 15 +million , there are players out there but we dont seem to have a scouting policy or transfer policy.

I don't know mate it's alottery I think ENIC have reached their ceiling, like I've previously stated I don't think they've done a bad job but can't improve us further, enough to challenge anyway

The Chinese!

There are rumours of China's biggest fund looking to buy a Premier League football club.

I wouldn't want it myself but I'm sure that we will see the Chinese move into the market at some stage. Could you imagine the merchandising opportunities of a Chinese fund, firm or individual owning a top Premier League club, they would be enormous!

It would make us the biggest club in the world with over a billion supporters. Keep Levy though.

Despite their limitations, I think that with Levy and ENIC it's better the devils you know. Look at Cardiff City - I know they've just got promoted but the idea of a new owner coming in and changing the colour of the Spurs kit really disturbs me. Of course as it happened to one of the most horrible collection of fans in Britain it was still highly amusing.

And the alternative is?

Bring on the roller coaster ride:

Can't embed to save my life.

I see you're crappy embedding and raise you an even poorer attempt. (Please work (y))

Speaking of rollercoasters I think this video perfectly sums up being a Spurs fan. The talking at the start is akin to us preparing for the season , cautious optimism. Season starts, and excitement begins. All seems to be going well we're having fun, we're anticipatin great things all we need is a certain je ne sais quoi...the TW will provide that. The conclusion of the TW and we are overcome with disappointement. First passout.

We come to, start to ride it out with what we have, scraping through and find ourselves still in with a chance. Frustration kicks in as Spurs revert to type and start to collapse (alright I get it). We pass out again and miss out on CL, only to come round again and talk up next season with optimism.

Oh the great rollercoaster with Spurs would you have it any other way, just look at his excitement

To be honest I doubt a Sheikh would buy or even attempt to deal with Spurs for obvious reasons, which is simply because we are a seen as a Jewish club. Racial hate and dislike is deeply ingrained within the area, it wouldn't look good for them dealing with us. Just my honest opinion could be utter bull.

Now an oligarch, maybe... But I doubt they would like to or have the balls to intrude onto Abramovich's playground. :D
