The win against City was a wonderful result, a season highlight. As was the 4 points off Man Utd. These are the results that gave us hope. City was particularly special as it gave us the hope that we could do it, with our game against Arsenal.

In true Tottenham Hotspur style we then threw it away against a relegation fodder team that didn't even turn up to their own relegation battle. As it stands Arsenal are currently winning and so are Chelsea, and we are currently looking further up shit creek without a paddle.

Part of me feels like I want us to lose the next game against Southampton and Arsenal/Chelsea to win theirs, not as a "fuck you" to the club, but just to end this anxious state of frustration that we're in so that we can just concentrate on next season asap.

But another part of me doesn't want to let the fight die, Audere Est Facere, after all. There's always the "what if" scenario that could take it to the wire. Don't know if I truly want that either though. Perhaps I'm just being too pessimistic about it.

One thing is for certain though - throughout all the debates of whether Levy is taking us in the right direction, or whether our players are good enough, or whether the manager has got it wrong more times than he's got it right, or whether we've been unlucky with our transfer outs and injuries, we can all agree that we really should've, and could've, finished the job ages ago.

Football is such a fucker, and sometimes hope is too. :shifty:

Edit: Utd have equalised. Forget everything I've put above, we're going to do it this time, I swear! :D

I cant see us beating Chelsea at home. They know how to win games where as we choke. I also cant see Arsenal dropping points regardless of if they lose today.

Even if all the above happens we still have to win all our games. Going on form thats not likely. All over I'm afraid. Levy OUT!!!!

So you believe it's all simply down to money?

The difference between winning the league and competing for top 4 is definitely money, but beating teams 30 points behind you that can just about fill 3/4 of their tiny stadium? I don't see that being down to money at all.

To be honest I don't harbour much hope now. After this weekend we are 3 points off Chelsea and 2 behind Arsenal. This means that we need to win all our remaining matches to finish above Arsenal and be level with Chelsea. If Arsenal draw a game and win the other 2, we still need to win 3 and draw one of our last 4. I don't see us collecting 12 points and even if Arsenal slip up I don't see us picking up 10.

Disappointing again after being ahead.

Youre right.

Its our lack of squad thats cost us.

Regardless where we finish, I think we can all be proud of the effort this season. This has been AVB's first full season in English football and he will learn from the mistakes he has made this season. We have a young talented manager and a young talanted squad. The is bright the future is lily-white :)

Yeah, i've been hearing that for about 5 years now. I'm still hoping that at some point the prophecy will be filled although there's another saying that I fear to be more likely unless we actually make the signings we need to make. 'We'll still be stable, in mid-table' ;)

All this talk of Chelsea and their fixture pile up means nothing. They have apart from the Liverpool game won all of their fixtures recently and still maintained their European charge. They have a top squad and FSW has rotated well.

The goons now have 3 very very winnable fixtures and are a team that can play under the pressure as they generally get a result when required.

We on the other hand choke..... More often then not we fail to put the pressure on teams around us. Our remaining fixtures are Not that easy either.....stoke and Chelsea away will screw us and that will be the end of our champs lge chances and maybe the last we see of Bale!

We've got one already unless i'm mistaken. Trouble is he seems to have short arms and deep pockets.
Is our owner Warwick Davis in clown trousers by any chance?
