If it's true (only just seen this thread) I personally wouldn't have the slightest issue.

Fuck it, I'd happily see us pay a small fee right now because I see little to no chance of the likes of GLC, Bergwijn, Winks & Dele being able to show/produce more.

Thats a very low bar

Levy brought Paratici in to in large part do exactly this - sign established players for no fee when their contracts are running out. It’s his (FP’s) specialty.

Not really sure what position he’d play for us. Don’t see him pushing any of the front 3 out, too lightweight for the midfield 2.

Deffo think he’s a decent player, just not sure he’d improve us because I think he’d end up being a square peg

Conte special this.

A player who not many would be excited about but Conte will have a vision of how he can utilise him. If Conte is the driving force I am all aboard. To be honest these are the deals I am more excited by from Conte, its easy to be interested in the top players but these are the types of deals that make Conte the best IMO. He sees things others don't.

Also not overly concerned by his age, don't think he has as many miles on the clock as other players of similar age.

Think the Son role inside left suits him best. Would be great to have him when Son is out, needs a rest or not playing great. Nobody else has been convincing in that position yet.

That's a very niche specialty, and judging by signing Ramsey for 400k a week he's not even that good at it

I think a lot of people are projecting on Conte - he's a world class manager, so of course he'd want all the shiny expensive names.

Reality is very different, and it's what works for him. Same as when people blamed the club for the old cheap cloggers Redknapp was signing, even though he signed most of them for Pompey, QPR, and Birmingham, too.

I have nothing against Lingard but I'm not seeing it what he would bring over and above what we already has?

Is he a squad player that we'd look to rotate with Son and Lucas? If so, he'd be a Bergwijn replacement. Bergwijn is younger, faster, stronger and more skilful - although Lingard scored more when he was at West Ham. My concern is that he'd need to play every game to pick up that momentum and if he didn't he'd probably be similar to his Man Utd form which is not that good.

Can Dele play part of the front 3? I think he can and I'd say he's a better player than Lingard too.

I think this is important and the weekends game showed how shit we are once the core 11 isn’t involved. To be honest some of the core 11 are also shit.

Lingard is a grade A twat with his j-lingz bs but I think he’d be a pretty strong squad member and would add some depth.

I think Lingard showed at West Ham he has the talent. I’d see him as a genuine game changing option off the bench, which is what we’re lacking. I’ll put aside my dislike of his irritating **** of a character

My main concern with him is that I don't think he's very versatile. Every time he's farmed out wide he is very ineffective. I don't really want yet another squad player who will 'do a job' somewhere. We're supposed to be solving problems with signings, not adding to them. He needs to play in a very specific role to excel; he does a decent job creating/scoring from an advanced central position but we don't play that way, and I can't see Lingard being the guy that opens up Conte's playbook, so to speak. A bit meh about this one.

Based on his recent attempt, no.

He could have worn a referee kit and no one would have considered his impact on the game abnormal
I think Dele got very little supply and had he stayed on with Lucas and Kane would have looked much better.

I think he's Better option than Lingard.

He was good at West Ham because he was a starter. Like many players if he's on the bench he's not as effective

I can't believe people still rate Dele.

Lingard showed he is incredibly effective in a counter attacking team. He would do great under Conte.

Are UTD going to run the risk of providing a player who could potentially put them out of the top 4 with a rival team? Would we sell Dele to UTD or West Ham knowing what he’s capable of?

Knowing what Dele is capable of these days, I’d be over the fucking moon if he went to one of our rivals… ?

Way back I though Dele had way more talent than Lingard, maybe he does. But time has shown how far Dele seems to have fallen, I’m not sure what happened to him, you only have one career, Dele really should have kicked on rather than seemingly going backwards.
