Rodon would miss the 6 Europa league group stage games but can still be registered for the later phases. Don't see that being that much of an issue as there will still be plenty of games around and it's not as if our current CB group is locked down with players who absolutely cannot be dropped.

If he's good enough I can absolutely see him getting in for PL games.

Have we had the debate about how to pronounce his name yet?
Rode On

Rod in

Looking forward to calling him Rotten when he concedes his first penalty

I've only ever heard Swansea fans (including in the Swans stands during games) use 'Rode on'.

Just part of another clean-sheet for Wales. 6 in a row in competitive games now. Played centrally in a back 3. Very assured against an admittedly poor Bulgaria side.

Don’t buy the idea that if he comes in now he won’t play. Arguably the best centre-half in the championship and has stepped up to international football with total ease. Already Wales’ best centre half. Also the fact that he plays left-sided centre back and since Vertonghen has gone none of ours are particularly comfortable there so I think he’ll really fancy his chances of playing. Hope we get this done.

Plays on the left side but is right footed.

He played very well tonight. Looked composed on the ball, was strong in the tackle and in the air, and has the qualities to play in the Premiership.

I hope we get this done.

Mention it quietly, but Ben Davies also played really well. A calming influence on a young team.

I don't know if the international break has been his priority but if so we'll start hearing things again very soon.

I imagine that we didn’t get him in time for deadline 1, there wasn’t much point in doing it before that/ tomorrow as paying more to get him earlier wouldn’t have got us even one more match out of him or any training either given the international break.

Just lke John Terry, Nemanja Vidić and Virgil van Dijk.

Yep but he mentioned Vertonghen who is left footed so completely different than playing a right footer there unless the player is comfortable with both feet. Jan used to whip balls up the inside left channel to Kane, which was a potent weapon as many teams aren't used to defending against it, as it is rare to have a left footer on that side, capable of that pass.

Is this happening? 29 hours til the deadline and seemingly no movement... Clearly some issues! Seems dead to me

Levy will be letting them stew on it I'm sure.

Him playing for Swansea or Wales really makes no difference to our negotiations with their board who I assume haven’t gone on Wales duty with him...

Swansea are also negotiating for a young CB from City - suppose they might want replacements in before selling the jewel in their crown

No point in announcing anything until his Welsh commitments were completed though. What if he got injured?

We'll soon see if it's dead or not, but it doesn't appear that there are other clubs interested. The Welsh media remain positive that it is happening

Eh. Dont care on this one either way. We need a CB for the now. We could worry about a few years from now another time. Rather save the money, add it to whatever money we have available for January and make do the next few months with Sanchez, Dier, Toby, Tanganga & Davies.

Agree with this, i'd rather we save the money and go big in January for a 1st team CB.
