Doubt this happens now, let’s just hope Dier’s injury isn’t too bad & Tanganga can stay fit till January.

Him playing for Swansea or Wales really makes no difference to our negotiations with their board who I assume haven’t gone on Wales duty with him...
Would he be able to have a medical with us when he's away with Wales? Especially in these Covid times.

He played very well tonight. Looked composed on the ball, was strong in the tackle and in the air, and has the qualities to play in the Premiership.

I hope we get this done.

Mention it quietly, but Ben Davies also played really well. A calming influence on a young team.

Alasdair Gold saying it's doubtful, spurs not willing to pay big money for somebody who hasn't got experience at a top level.

That Alasdair gold vid looks like he is talking directly to Swansea, saying exactly what Levy wants him to.

We wont pay x, because we have signed numerous more esteemed players for less.
The player wants to come and he’s the only player we want.

AG sounds like he's been briefed to me.

a. Lower your demands Swansea
b. Try to push the move through Rodon

Doesn't that presuppose that Swansea are following Aladair's twitter feed?

very odd. Itk’s pointing to mysterious other reasons not monetary and I don’t think loan-back related as that has been mentioned in some media already.

The strange split HG/Non-HG issue is a weird one and certainly takes some luster off. If he was full HG, seems like we should be doing absolutely anything we can to get over the line. The #s get a little more complicated with the weird welsh/Europa thing and wonder if the issue is one around a spot for another “prospect” vs an immediate starting 11 upgrade

I've said it a few times in here, all signs point to issues on a medical front. The idea that the deal is still doable IF that is the case would tell me that the hold up would be such a high fee for a player with medical issues. He has had injury problems in the past.

The Swansea Manager has put more pressure on the deal, doesn't want him sold on the cheap and wants to get money similar to Ben Godfrey.
I don't think CCV will make much of a dent in the overall transfer fee, so I can't see this deal doing ahead.
I think we'll wait until January and go back in for Skriniar.

And if Inter won’t lower their valuation?

Always amazes me that CCV's price is usually quoted around the £3m mark, i know the length of his contract has a major bearing on that price, but it does seem very low - he's also a full International i believe and is 22 yrs old with loads of experience. If we were/are going to pay £15-£20m for Rodon, and people are using 25m for Godfrey as a guide, then i'd be bumping CCV's price up considerably too.

And if Inter won’t lower their valuation?

We had ITK from rebrab after the window shut (quoted below), that a we were very close to agreeing a deal. So Inter's valuation shouldn't be a problem.

For what it's worth, I heard we were extremely close to Skriniar on Saturday and it sounds like Inter pulled out when they couldn't get a replacement in at the right price.
