There are only 11 places available. People have been crying out for us to have a settled back four all season. Mason is doing it, we’ve just got to go with it. Rodon will have to wait for his chance along with Sanchez.

Now that we've moved away from the low block bollocks Toby and Dier look pretty comfortable. I think Mason has gone for experience at CB and is sticking with it while it's working. Rodon has a big future though.

I think it's fair to say that Mason has gone with a system the majority of the squad knows and is picking the players most comfortable with it. It's not a slight on Rodon.

Amazing isnt it. Who knew that defending for 30% of a game makes it less likely you'll fk up than if you're defending for 80%.
Jose clearly didnt.

Just a weird way of approaching the game. All any defender wants is for the ball to be up the other end of the pitch and any attacker wants it in their zone. The logical conclusion is that setting up the way Mourinho did would just make evrybody unhappy.

All of a sudden the myth of ‘Dier needs a low block because he’s too slows’ is being dispelled. Maybe he just needs to not have an opportunity to screw up every other minute of the match. Same goes for the rest of them too.

I want to make a joke about a manager making these sort of decisions belongs on Talksport.

Problem is there's about 4 threads going on atm where it's apt.

Exactly. Mourinho's ego is so big he would rather set us up in a way that exposes our weaknesses and then blame the players, than adjust his tactics to suit the squad.

It's a slight on any player seeing Sanchez on the pitch/sat on the bench instead of them.

Except for our opponents.

Been treated so unfairly with his time here, even being told by the coach when he does play to row z it and be no nonsense is laughable when the boy can actually play, understand though Mason has gone with the safest partnership for now he knows Toby makes anyone he plays next to better and I think Ryan also has a personal friendship with Dier as he knows he will fight for the badge so it’s a sensible option as he knows upsetting Joe is less of a worry than upsetting Dier or winks behind the scenes.

Hopefully, he gets a loan move to Norwich or Brighton in the summer and shows us that we already have a very good Centre back at the club.

LowBlock? against City we barely made it in their half?

Against Sheffield United we started the second half terribly that the ball was in their third 16% of the time, against any other team we would have struggled(they are officially the third worst team in PL history)

Do people watch us?

He did wait for his chance and took it. Then didn't deserve to lose it.
Toby's legs have gone and Dier has the moving circle of the Titanic so playing high up the field isn't their strength. We haven't played anyone decent in the league to expose that.

A loan? I swear that would be a massive mistake

I swear people are just saying rodon is the best thing since sliced bread becuase he is fairly young and new.
Sanchez is only a year older and has proven to be a great player, just had a bit of a bad time under jose but we are ready to throw him under the bus.

Rodon could go onto be a world beater (doubt it myself, but reckon he will become a good player) but he is currently well behind the other cb choices execept tanganga.

Like for real? No really?
Yes I only think Rodon is a really promising player because he's new. You got me

Sanchez has proven to be a great player??? Have a word with yourself...he has got progressively worse since he's been with us. He should be one of the first names to be moved on in the summer...his calamitous defending is painful to watch....

I think so too and it will be his downfall if, on the small chance, he gets the permanent job.
