Can anyone remember the year Poch got sacked, I posted in September he wouldn't make to Christmas. Due to the behind the scenes stuff that was going on his position would become untenable???

Got a few neg reps and disagrees for that post iirc.

Well how far away is valentine's Day?

It must be bad behind the scenes so:LOL:

Makes sense though, we could be out of the top 4 race by Thursday anyway.

I always was concerned he wasn't the right fit for us, I like him on a human level.

I'm a bit sad how things are turning out.

Can we infer this is Dele/Aurier player related or is there something more sinister at play that we mere mortals aren't party to?

Can't be transfer inbound related.

This is where I'm at.

I've backed Jose to the hilt but that performance yesterday was unacceptable, the players just looked like they couldn't give a fuck for 90% of that game, and to be honest that scares me.
It scares me because that's the first time under Jose that, to me, it really looked like the players just weren't playing for him, yeah we've had shit performances before, but not like that.

People can scream and shout 'Jose Out!' into the internet as loud as they like, they can jump on whatever wagon they choose to, but that aint gonna make a jot of difference until there are 60k fans booing loudly at the final whistle, that's what the world sees, that's what the media love, and that's what will force change from the bald one (barring a relegation threat).
I think the ace up Levy's sleeve is that because there are no fans at games, he won't feel pressured into making a decision yet.

It also scares me for another reason, people think that changing the manager will instantly make things great...sacking this manager won't, you're living in a dream land if you think Kane and Son are sticking around for Ralph fucking Hasenhuttl, Brendan Rogers, or the latest hipster poster boy from Germany... it aint happening, these are world class players who deserve to win the big things, they're irreplaceable (when you look at our recruitment)...just look at our squad if you take those 2 out.

This is why the next few months are absolutely pivotal, I want more than ever for Jose to turn this around, but I honestly fear for us in the medium term what happens if he can't.

I can't emphasise enough how much I hate the term 'spursy', but to employ one of the most successful and decorated managers in history and to be in this mess is ....

I actually believe we're just fucking cursed.

Have to disagree there as i think before last season got postponed we were seeing these type of performances and yes i know there were mitigating factors but the performances were much the same as the last two. The Norwich FA Cup debacle was as bad, if not worse than last night.

Getting rid is only half the job. Then we really need to nail the next appointment.
Half the job? Mate, it's the beginning of pulling everything down almost to rebuild it all again. The aim of ire will turn to Levy and the board again, we're about to rinse repeat the last decade and a half of things.

It's an ever decreasing circle.

I think the thing most people are getting at is that we have seemingly sacrificed playing attractive football to bring in Mourinho to "win the league cup". People earlier in the post were saying they would be happy to play defensive football if we won trophies at the expense or in favour of finishing in the top four.

Personally I'd rather watch a season of good attacking football that is exciting to watch and make sure we are in the champions league playing against the likes of Barca and Real rather 4 or 5 matches against no name teams or pl b teams and then competing for a b status trophy. Being in the champions league will get us closer to attracting better players and improving than winning the league cup.

There's defensive football and then there is completely non-existent football which is what Jose is serving up currently. Watch Inter Milan or Atletico play and they are actually have a clue in possession.

I was willing for us to become a bit cynical and streetwise because I do want a Cup for these boys and genuinely think it would help us as a club. That can't come at the cost of us not competing for CL places however as that is incredibly important for obvious reasons. Mourinho has the key players to achieve both of those goals but has royally screwed it. I think @Trix makes a good point. He's acting like a guy that has ran out of ideas in how to get this squad to play in a way he can coach, hence all the weird decisions.

I hoped Mourinho would figure it out but the Peking Manual story was spot on, he needs to move into international management as the club game has left him behind.

Whatever happened in that Liverpool match at HT must have really rocked the boat.

Do you enjoy watching leeds? I certainly do and they certainly spanked Leicester yesterday in their first season in the league for 20 years. im not seeing the myth. Im seeing entertaining football punching above its station is that not what we aim for? Or are we obsessed with shiny pieces of tin that are out of our financial ambition to reach and in doing so sacrificing our pride in our team which I for one always had under Poch trophies or not?
I get where you're coming from. But he has no plan b. Also, his training methods and high intensity would break half our squad. It's a young players game...

I wonder what was said in the HT bust up against Liverpool because the way we came out for the 2nd half was visibly shocking.

Haha how may time have we said this about Levy. He hit a good one with Poch but he's got a horrendous record of appointments. Graham, Santini, Ramos, AVB, Sherwood (when he was appointed full time) and now Jose.

Do you really expect our lot to be able to press like Leeds, if this was possible then poch would still be in charge.

Our situation isn’t great but I don’t believe sacking Jose is the answer. We are under a process of rebuilding and bad results are expected just like when we hammered Liverpool under klop when they are under the process of rebuilding. Yes Jose could have done better on a lot of things but if we sack the manager every time we run into problems then we will just be repeating history, Jose should at least be given until the end of the season. The next few games will be hard but things will improve when we have Kane, lo celso and reguilon back.

The analogy of 'give them time' is routinely thrown out there and quickly trashed as soon as results go awry.

No manager is given time due to fans bipolar attitude.

Imagine that, breaking a manager that's won every where he's been.

Our winners in that dressing room eh? That Audi Cup went to there head, topping the league for a week some of them must have thought there was nothing else left to do ....

He has got to play Dele, when he Mourinho first came in he was unreal for 5 games. Refuse to believe he can't play football anymore

Given what's gone on I can't see Dele playing to save Mourinho's job. Might aswell just wait it out now until the next one comes in. Sad but true.

Last season, we probably waited too long to sack Poch. It had looked like it was coming for a while, but by the time it happened we were out of one cup and ten points behind 4th in the league. Let's not repeat the mistake. If it's true there's been a HT bust-up at Anfield, he's lost the dressing room and we're clearly not playing well, bin him now while we're still in all the cups and with a chance of 4th if we turn our form around.
