Even in the documentary, when Sacramento says "They say Sissoko is a very big influence in the dressing room" Jose goes "Fucking hell"

That is easily the best thing that Jose has done in his time with us.

There's defensive football and then there is completely non-existent football which is what Jose is serving up currently. Watch Inter Milan or Atletico play and they are actually have a clue in possession.

I was willing for us to become a bit cynical and streetwise because I do want a Cup for these boys and genuinely think it would help us as a club. That can't come at the cost of us not competing for CL places however as that is incredibly important for obvious reasons. Mourinho has the key players to achieve both of those goals but has royally screwed it. I think @Trix makes a good point. He's acting like a guy that has ran out of ideas in how to get this squad to play in a way he can coach, hence all the weird decisions.

I hoped Mourinho would figure it out but the Peking Manual story was spot on, he needs to move into international management as the club game has left him behind.
It's just the complete lack of any kind of in possession plan that has shocked me. We litterally had a line of all our attacking players on the edge of their box an no one looking for a key pass or making runs. Last night and Liverpool were the total pits for me. I still want him to turn it around but there needs to be a drastic change.

Haha how may time have we said this about Levy. He hit a good one with Poch but he's got a horrendous record of appointments. Graham, Santini, Ramos, AVB, Sherwood (when he was appointed full time) and now Jose.

To be slightly pedantic Graham was a "Lord" Sugar appointment.

Maybe, but I have seen bigger turn arounds, the football world are fickle, and Rodgers would find it hard to reject us imo.
Curious as to what you think we can offer Leicester cannot right now. I've always thought he hasn't thought much of us, I could have this wrong obviously.

Can anyone remember the year Poch got sacked, I posted in September he wouldn't make to Christmas. Due to the behind the scenes stuff that was going on his position would become untenable???

Got a few neg reps and disagrees for that post iirc.

Getting rid is only half the job. Then we really need to nail the next appointment.
It seems to me we have a real need to continually bring in quality players.

Our transfers, and the ability to finalise the deals, improved under Arnesen, Comolli and Baldini.

I feel we need to put a buying strategy in place and the managers need to be head coaches that fit the requirements of our buying strategy.

It's the only way we'll bring in any continuity.

The Rodgers quotes predated Poch who was given a lot of time, and to be honest I think would have gotten more if he didn't lose faith himself. I genuinely think the players felt that and it was a contributing factor to it all unravelling.

Leicester are a club going places that he can trust so it would be a massive gamble for him. That said we do have a higher ceiling than them in my opinion and could offer him big money. I wouldn't blame him for not trusting Levy though. If he was willing to leave mid season he would be at Chelsea regardless.

I think Levy would be willing to accept poor results like we've had if the general football wasn't so clueless and uninspiring. Palace for example wasn't great but the keeper has played a blinder. However since Leicester it has been very very poor in the league and some of the second half stats are truly damning.

Jose has suffered from individual quality at the back but it would be a lot easier to point to that if we were losing games 4-3 rather than getting dominated by fucking Brighton. 4 shots on target at Brighton after going behind early with Son, Bale, Ndombele and Berhwijn to call upon is embarrasing.

I do not think he would, I think he sees Leicester as bigger than us at the moment.

Lets be fair he would be mad to leave them for us

One he gets a chairman that is a known arsehole.

Two - he gets a scouting network that would identify messi as average and Charlie Austin as a world beater.

He will not get the control etc he gets at leicester and yeh, he knows he fucks up with us or does anything wrong hes outta here.

You just need someone to come in, free the shackles, put an arm around them, make them express themselves and we'll have a completely different mind set and approach. Whether it brings positive results, who know, but at least we can start to play expansive football that is far more suited to this group of players.

Yeah, you get the usual “Ah manager fwiend” instant positivity, and allow the players to do what they want, but when big decisions need to be made, players need to be dropped etc History has proven that players mindsets will inevitably revert back.
Unhappy players like maybe Dele, Winks, Aurier because of lack of game time, disciplinary issues are then just replaced by Lo Celso, NDombele etc because the former are being picked over them and disagree with the manager making the decisions and tactics used.

The analogy of 'give them time' is routinely thrown out there and quickly trashed as soon as results go awry.

No manager is given time due to fans bipolar attitude.

If the team is playing horrible, joyless football and the results are bad and squad morale is plummeting and players on massive wages are being ostracised and there are no fans in the stadium... I fail to see how fans' attitude has much bearing on the situation.

I'm really hoping Jose turns it around and gets time. I know it's not looking good atm. But if we fire the most successful manager in the modern era, we're basically saying our problems are too big to be fixed by anyone. Player power getting him sacked would make us no better than Chelsea. And there is no way Son and Kane stay beyond the end of the season.

This pretty much sums up where I am and likely most others.

The football he's getting from this team is not good enough. Look at our performance from last night, look at the Fulham game. Our squad is better than those teams, yet the way we set up combined with the systems (if they exist) we use make our advantage completely ineffective.

99% of people were ecstatic with our summer transfers, our subsequent balance and competition, it all started well.

But I can't see how our best players and options are being utilised by JM at the moment. It seems without the odd key player we're completely clueless and that's on the manager. He has to have options and different setups to account for that and when the chips are down, he doesn't.

Footballing wise your right they are ahead of us,but a few weeks back he was flirting with Arsenal when asked the question,
Club and stature wise ,we are a different league to Leicester and I think he would jump ship.

In spite of my critical post. I also absolutely see this point as valid.

Look at the climate we're in. Look at where we are in his tenure. Short term, whether we like it or not, JM is going nowhere.
