Still got a feeling we will end up with him. Would fit with the latest itk about young CH

Can't see us linked with any other options and can't see this being the Italian link.

He does have a choice to stay and pressure the club to accepting our offer.
But PSG agreed a fee some time ago now, the media stories suggest Foyth doesn't want to go, and is holding out for us. That could be either Spurs upping their bid to an acceptable level, or more likely PSG moving to an alternative target, and ours being the only deal left on the table.
I doubt it, but anyways, Foyth won't be the Wimmer replacement as JJ said he wouldn't a first-team player yet.

Benkovic is the only other young CB I can recall being linked with.
The latest ITK states it is a young CB we're looking to bring in.

As I said in ITK thread in depends on definition of young back up. Straight away most think it's a kid with no experience, but there's a lot of more established players who fit the young back up criteria. In fact, I wouldn't expect us to sign anything but a young back up as we don't really sign older players and they sure as hell won't be ahead of vert and Toby (which doesn't make you a bad player by any means). I'm still expecting a relative nobody but my expectations are low at this stage.

Depends, if they give the money to Neymar and he pays it then it doesn't count, if they pay it directly then it does count.

However, PSG, have got in trouble for trying to circumvent to FFP rules before, and I suspect that this would count against them. La liga are likely to push for harsh conditions. I suspect PSG will have to sell, they three seasons to match FFP. This is what I think. Cos ultimately UEFA will probably do something when Barca is involved.
But that is what I'm saying. The only one that can pay the release clause is the player. Obviously the one that gives Neymar the money is PSG.
But PSG can't pay directly the money. It has to be through Neymar.

We can't replace Wimmer with this guy. He's too raw. Won't be ready at all. Not to say we won't sign him but if we do it will be alongside another CB if Wimmer goes.

Well, I thought the same as you at the beginning. But considering he's being shortlisted for the full national team of Argentina, I'd say he's readier than most people think.
Like when Alli came, and most of us thought he wouldn't feature in the first team, and then suddenly in a year he was already playing for England

I like what I've seen, albeit based on YouTube videos. Looks very comfortable on the ball, a great fit for our style of play, the way the defenders bring the ball out from the back. Our defenders have to be technically proficient on the ball. Naturally right footed but looks comfortable playing predominantly on the left, confident enough.
Also good technique in the tackle, doesn't dive in rashly.

Are you sure? How many games did Wimmer actually play last season?

Foyth looks confident enough on the ball, and technically/tactically sound enough, that he could play the Dier understudy, able to slide between DM and CB.

Forth and his family seem to want Spurs notwithstanding the agreement between Estudiantes and PSG. The issue, as I understand it, is the fee. As was reported the other day by ESPN

"club sources have told ESPN FC that Pochettino rejected the deals for Porto's Ricardo Pereira and Juan Foyth of Estudiantes because he felt they were too expensive."

That was the same article where they outlined Morata not wanting to come to Spurs the year prior as he did not want to be the backup to Harry Kane

I think Foyth could be one for the future and love the fact that he wants to come to Spurs. If the price is the issue though, that will have to change or he will not be coming.
