Azpilicueta has also done well in Chelsea's back 3 and he's 5ft 10. If he's just a decent defender I very much doubt it would be an issue.

Lads this summer of all summer don't do it to yourselves and get your hopes up over signing him. He's way out of our price league.
Been enough disappointment this summer don't give yourself more

Not worried about his height. Pujol was 5ft 10in (same as Kounde) and Pique was 6ft 4in (same as Rodon) and I think they had a pretty good partnership over the years.

Also no way I am saying they would be the next Pujol/Pique, just saying...

All this talk about short CBs and I haven't seen one mention of Gary Mabbutt! For shame....

Chelsea were also rumoured to be looking at him. I think he will sit tight and see if one of the bigger teams come in for him but if they don't, could possibly see this one happening towards the end. Will obviously be a difficult one though..... as well as relying on one of the bigger teams not firming up their interest, also involves us shifting a player or two (hopefully Dier and Sanchez). Wouldn't totally rule it out but unlikely imo.

Suspect there will be some interest from Madrid tbh. Lost Ramos and looking like they'll be losing Varane. Will need to bring in a defender or two and wouldn't be surprised to see them move quickly if/when Varane moves on.

United is signing Varane, best sources in Real denied any interest in Kounde. And that's probably his only other options
Ramos seemingly joining PSG, Bayern & Liverpool getting the Leipzig CB's. I think Romero is going back to Juve & like you mentioned United are seemingly after Varane. Inter aren't going to be spending a chunk, City don't need one. Outside of Chelsea I don't see a ton of "big teams" in the market for a CB.

Cannavaro was a midget. If you're good enough you're tall enough.
Was just gonna say the same thing (apart from the midget comment! lol). Kounde is the same height as Bobby Moore was and one inch taller than both Baresi and Cannavaro.

Only thing I have against him as a CH, is he is only 5ft 10 plus
I played in college here in America and was eventually switched from cb to a no 8 and rb at times. I’m 5’10” and my height was the reason I was placed there. I couldn’t compete in the air. To make a career as a cb at the highest level with that same height tells me that he has exceptional attributes elsewhere and reads the game well (things I was apparently limited in). He’d be playing in the middle or on the flank, otherwise. You don’t need to be the tallest player to win a header.
