Thats right, he's not good enough to play as a wing back. If we were playing 4 at the back he'd be ok, not a world beater, but ok. Imo of course. Still not good enough for a team looking at top 4 regardless. Like most of Hitchns buys, he was a gamble.
Well yes to a certain extent every signing is a gamble. Even if they fit the dynamic and are good enough if they aren't happy at the club or with the area, culture then you can get a shit player.I agree with you. But aren't all signings a gamble, no matter who scouted/signed them?
United gambled on Ronaldo, one of the best players to ever play the game. Yet he's seemingly had a negative affect on the team dynamic.
