Lennon walks off and leaves us with 10 players.

Surely he should have stayed on even if a little immobile, or is that just me?

Yeah, little pussy.. you can imagine the likes of Dave McKay - Graham Roberts ect. would have been rather less keen to mince off down the tunnel!

You have to assume it was quite a bad injury. It did look as if he made the decision to depart down the tunnel rather quickly. It was a crucial moment...and to rub salt in the guy who took him out scores the winner!

no point staying on if you can barely walk, whats that gonna achieve except turning the injury into something more serious. then we have no wingers with gio out. guessing harry as killed bentley

I'm just hoping it's not a serious injury, as with no Lennon, Defoe and Modric we look very weak going forward.

He looked like he twisted his ankle quite badly so you have to give him the benefit of the doubt. Hope he is ok for next weekend.

Lennon HAD TO leave to start treatment for the next game, Everton or Arsenal......He was not able to continue (even to stand and watch) and a 10 man Spurs should have been able to handle Stoke.....Where have we heard that one before ha ha?
No matter what....having Lennon cause further damnage to his existing knock would have made his recoverytime longer. What annoys me is the fact that the 'culpit' and direct cause of the injury was allowed to stay on the pitch.....British justice....yes....in all it crockedness ha ha! COYS!

If he is injured he is injured.....Why leave him on to maybe make the injury worse? If he cant run he may as well not be out there.

Looked like the Stoke guy stamped on his achilles, he was down for a while, was still bent over feeling the back of his ankle once he'd got up, and couldn't run...

He was injured too badly to continue without aggrevating it if he stayed on, and all 3 substitutes had been used, mmeaning that he couldn't be replaced and sothe alternatives were 'stay on and aggreavte the injury' or 'walk off and reduce us to 10 men'! Rockeet science it ain't.

The ref was truly pathetic today.
I hate to agree with Obscene Whinger, but surely teams like Stoke who (appear) to set out to kick footballing teams out of the game shouldn't be allowed to succeed - it did today:supered:

Defoe was a fool for getting that red card but the rest of the squad have to take there chances.... Keano and Co. have to step up and carry the team forward.

Maybe he couldn't carry on, maybe he was more concerned about getting seriously injured in a world cup year. We had them on the ropes and Lennon going off gave them a lift. Whealan's, aka Irish Gattuso(lol), tackle was clumsy, but not intentional. If he stayed on we probably wouldn't have lost as Whealan was brought on to man mark Lennon and wouldn't have bombed forward to score.
My gut feeling is that Lennon made his decision to go off with England in mind rather than Spurs, a view that Harry seems to share. As a spurs fan I feel a little let down by this attitude.
However, that is only my gut feeling and may not be the case.

Hopefully, this is not the case.

You hit the deck. The game stops (eventually). The physio gets a chance to quickly assess whether you can be freeze-sprayed and just stuck in the middle without running, or not - if not fair enough. You do not refuse to even be assessed and wander off.

And the ref says you have to go off for treatment:roll:

And if you can, via a parallel universe, or summit (I dunno), go forward and backwards in time, and discover that just by staying out Lennon misses 5 eatra games 'just by staying on the pitch' - whay then:shrug:

I just think you let the physio have a look and make that decision (together) - I never said he had to stay on no matter what. They have some pretty amazing stuff in the bag now, not just a wet sponge and an orange. You pause the game, even if it is to get moved off the pitch, and buy even more injury time.
