Just want to say that I and a few others stated this at the time and were ridiculed for suggesting that being decent at Ajax doesn't equate to the premier league.

I was well aboard the potter train and if Conte leaves in the future, I'll be well and truly back on it.

I even got attacked for suggesting that the fucking rangers manager might also not be suited for the job for the exact same reasons, but the same fucking nutjobs were wheeling out the stats. Turns out he's not the Messiah as well.

Everyone is on the hype train and they get on it at every stop and never learn.

All we get is a, I was wrong on that one lads. Then they continue with their half baked fucking turd of an idea that could have been produced by a 3 year old.

Will they learn? Will they bollocks.

Anyway, luckily for us (and the rest of the premiership) United are also on the hype train at every stop (see Ronaldo, Sanchez, fdj etc..).

Although if the rumours of aranautuvic and rabiot are true their train has just exploded.
Jesus didn't jump out the womb and immediately lay on a savoury spread for the shepherds.

Arteta didn't immediately turn arsenal into the new man City. It took him almost five-years and the highest net spend since Crassus to become the messiah.

We shouldn't write anyone off just yet. Especially when they'll play most of their matches against teams with significantly less resources. Like the Tetsi fly, if you can buy yourself enough time you can ascend to something truly special.

United supporters should have rioted a very long time ago......anyway rather them than us hey.
They did. First they had the green and gold campaign yonks ago, around when the Glazers came in but it faded as Fergie kept them successful. Then they really had a go at it in the Super League protests, but again that faded over that summer. They've never managed to keep the pressure up for long enough.

One of their biggest problems is that they are becoming less and less attractive to the best players as time goes by. Go back a few years and they would all sign on the dotted line simply because it was Man Utd. Fast forward to today, and quality players are quickly losing their shine at Utd. and potential signings will be well aware of that. Players like Sancho, Van der Beek, Telles have gone downhill rapidly almost since the day they signed.
Was thinking about this the other day. They have overpaid for youngsters that just aren't that good. There is a reason that van der beek was the last of the big stars of that ajax team to leave, he just isn't that good. In fact, he is very much having the problems thar dele is having now, he was excellent in an excellent side that played to his strengths but his skillset is narrow. Given a free role as an attacking mid dele would still get goals, unfortunately football has changed and the free role has disappeared.

As for sancho, I've never been impressed. I actually grew up with his dad and we played football together as teenagers, but when you compare him to kulu, who is actually younger, both in terms of what he had done previously and the price paid, it shows how poor utds recruitment is. Sancho was the next big thing, but was he what utd needed or just an achievable big money signing that would appease the fans? His dad was splitting his time between Germany and Manchester but had kept a house up there since Jadon was at city, so utd already had an advantage in trying to sign him.

They are a mess.

The probelm isnt the Glazers not spending money. They have spent plenty, more than enough.
Their problem is the running of the football team and recruitment.
They are directionless, as we were prior to Paratici, and have a lot of people in senior management roles who haven't a clue what they are doing.
Long may it continue.

Sancho looked really dangerous at Dortmund but they routinely dominated teams. Utd. haven't done that for years, even when they finished 2nd with Mourinho, and without that, Sancho becomes more of a marginal figure with very little defensive input. They certainly are a mess and their fall from grace has been slow and steady with no signs of a turnaround.

United left in limbo by a PSV player.

Gakpo: I'm likely to stay at PSV if we qualify for CL

Manchester United target Cody Gakpo admits he is more likely to stay at PSV Eindhoven this season if the club qualify for the Champions League proper.

PSV beat Monaco last night to reach the Champions League play-off round, the last knockout stage before September's group stages.

United can only offer Europa League football this season so victory for PSV over Scottish side Rangers could be a damaging blow to Erik Ten Hag's bid to find a new striker.

"We must first focus on and try to make it to the Champions League. Then it is more likely that I will stay," said Gakpo after PSV's win over Monaco.
"I don't think I have said anywhere that I am leaving, so there is definitely a chance that I will stay.
"I'm open for a cup of coffee with the management - or coffee for them and water for me. We'll see how it goes."

I reckon City and United got things the wrong way round: City should've signed Sancho and United should've signed Grealish.

Grealish is a maverick and works best when he's given the run of the left side of the pitch to do what he wants. He would've fit in perfectly at a relatively unstructured team like United where he would've been given free reign to come deep and run matches like he did at Villa. Pep is currently deconstructing him and taking away the qualities that make him special to fit him into the City machine.

Meanwhile Sancho is a fantastic player but needs to be a part of a structured attacking system to get the best out of him. He'd probably be an absolute sensation down the right side for City, but for England and United he doesn't have the raw pace, power or creativity to do it all on his own. I think if United give Ten Hag time to implement his ideas and get some suitable signings in then Sancho could be very good for them, though.

Rabiot wants Circa 250k per week. :ROFLMAO:
Given Ramsey was on something insane like 400k p/w by Juve for signing on a free, I imagine Rabiot, who also signed on a free, is on crazy money too.

Love Paratici but he really shat the bed at Juve with those 2 signings.

If United have any sense they'll run a mile. Rabiot is an alright player, but the last thing they need in another middling signing on silly money.
