Onana left the Cameroon squad mid-World Cup after a bust up with coach Rigobert Song over playing style so he might not care that much. Song is still in charge.
In the back of my head I did think there was some past event. As you say, likely could push Onana in one direction. I wonder if Song would in turn use their second choice? That would be funny.

Possible funniest outcome here in him losing to us, and then chucking up a howler against Guinea and it getting blamed on this absolutely ludicrous idea.

The very notion that United feel that they need George Weah's goalkeeper cousin alone to get a result against us these days is just excellent.

It is different for Goalkeeper in terms of fitness, but I don't think I've ever heard of a player at this level playing two days straight professional football, let alone in two different continents.
It’s going to be reminiscent of Phil Collins during Live Aid playing in Philadelphia and then flying to London and playing Wembley.

has his shot stopping really been that bad? or is this just a case of horrible defense leading to a million good chances?
I'm not going to sit here and suggest Yanited's defence has been good in any way but he's let more than one goal literally slip through his fingers this season. He's inconsistent at best.

I'm all for a keeper who seems to have concentration issues spending the match distracted thinking about how quickly he needs to get showered and to the airport after the match and whether he might miss the opening match of his country's tournament the very next day.

It's bizarre.

Mark Hughes played for both club and country on the very same day in 1987. That's the only comparable one I know of.

There is no time difference between Uk and Ivory Coast so he won’t be jet lagged. Ideally we hammer them and he makes several mistakes before Pape Sarr repeating all again for him the next day.

Nice to see Twitter catching up to my ‘exclusive’ about Potter meeting Radcliffe haha, and they are taking it well. Actually seen some asking for Oli back haha

Such a shame Côte d'Ivoire shares the same time zone as UK so he won't be totally jet lagged. I'd be pretty annoyed if I were a Cameroon fan.

Anyone else think it feels hilariously to type that Utd have had Dave Brailsford (who knows nothing about football) review their transfer policy…

If I remember right, it was @Nine while nine who mentioned the Clive Woodward experiment at Southampton earlier and this does feel very much like that.

Rangnick told the board what needed to be done and they totally ignored him, and I'd imagine that Ralf understands football much better than Dave flippin Brailsford!
