Seriously though, Maguire and his friends behaved like thugs and should probably stay in jail for a while. Even in a banana republic like Greece, hitting police officers is a serious crime. Can't see the culprits get away with it.
According to the police, they resisted arrest, and tried to attack police officers again when they were led to the police department. They also tried to flee, and attempted to bribe policemen to make it all go away.
They stayed in custody overnight, and then were led to another island, where charges were pressed.
Needless to say they were very drunk.
Sadly, incidents like that are a common occurence in almost all resorts that tend to young Brits in Greece.

They guy is 27, I’d hardly call him a spring chicken!
Unfortunately I’d say it applies to quite a few Brit’s, especially when they get beer in their belly and sun on their back.
I hope they bang them up, nice high profile one for them to make an example of.

It's not about getting arrested in other countries, my mate got banged up for fighting in Agia Napa and he was in the cell for 3 days, he said it was one of the worst experiences of his life. Food was shit, the cell conditions were horrible and he said that they violated his human rights and felt like an animal - took an early fight home and was traumatised for ages lol
