I'm wondering what people's opinions are on the 'reported' rifts between Levy and Harry over who we should sign this summer.
Harry wants experienced players and if the reports are to be believed .... they consist of players who are the wrong side of 30 (Parker, Drogba, Forlan, Distin etc).
Where as Levy wants players with a potential sell on value and a marquee signing - I assume to appease the fans.
Then there's the issue that Harry may not be here in a years time (trial/England job) and the reports that Ancelotti has already been lined up to replace him.
The coming season is of massive importance to the club. We need quality signings and the season must be a success if we are to hold on to Modric, Bale, VDV etc ....
I'm personally not bothered if we sign a superstar. All I want are players that will improve our known weaknesses.
Is it wrong to expect Levy and Harry to have a list of signings that they both agree on?
Does Levy get his way and sign players that Harry doesn't want? or does Harry get his way, bring in some experienced players which may or may not work .... if not, how do we get our money back on 32, 33, 34 year old players? Simple, we don't.
We should already have our targets earmarked and be ready to attempt to sign them. The owner and manager shouldn't still be squabbling over who they want.
This needs to come to ahead because if it doesn't, the rift will grow and we risk being unprepared for the new season .... and if we fail, god help us keeping our stars.
Levy has a decision to make, either back his manager or thank him, sack him and bring in Ancelotti/a new manager sooner rather than later so we can move on, sign the players we need and be ready for the challenge of such an important season.
