There doesn't seem to be a thread on Holtby (apart from the Fulham one), and I think he'll be a big player for us this season.

Will fit Poch's style perfectly imo.

Just look at how happy he is :D

We haven't handled him well. Agreed he hasn't exactly done fantastic when played but hopefully he'll be given a long run in mid field, he's much better there than as a no 10.

He will hopefully play a big part. His all action style and good attitude can be a massive boost for the squad.

You answered it yourself. He hasn't done fantastic, it's up to him to play his way into the team, the same as every other player.

I think Poch will like him. Got a high work rate and has a bit of technical ability. I thought i read somewhere that Poch had told him that he was a fan and that he tried to take him on loan at Southampton (May have been an unauthorized ITK).

He's one of the boys I expect Poch to get the best out of. I think he's limited but with Pochettino seemingly able to get players playing to their full potential etc I think this will work well in young Lewis' favour.

He was over eager to impress when he first arrived. Too many needless fouls and rushed passes, I don't think he suited our laborious style of play. Much more suited to playing on the counter. I hope he gets his shot this coming season.

Exceptional raw talent, fitness and attitude. Rough round the edges but a gem for any manager to work with.

IIRC Poch was watching him at Southampton, infact Poch was the one who announced that Fulham had loaned Holtby before it became official news and he added that Lewis would be a good loan for them.

I imagine Lewis is going to be one of the ones who benefits the most from Pochettino.

Holtby is the kind of player that will work well in a pressing team but also in a team with good, fluid movement. He isn't going to pick out special passes every time he gets the ball but he will pick out a few if he gets the ball a lot. I like him and as is the case with many of our players we should reserve judgement until we see them playing under a proper manager.

I like Lewis and want him to do well but it's the old problem for me as to what position to play him in. Can't see him holding, Eriksen in the 10 and I'm not sure about him wide. Maybe a 4-3-3 but not sure poch will do that.

Dont think Holtby's going to be good enough to be a no10 at the highest level, but I still think he could become a very good CM. Competition for those deeper midfield positions is going to be fierce, so if he gets a chance he needs to take it. I dont mean the odd nice pass/shot, he needs to put together 2 or 3 top performances on the trot, or could easily slip right down the pecking order.

Eriksen -- Holtby -- Lamela with all three interchanging. Reason i'd start Lewis in middle is that he has energy to drop deep into the midfield and drive up to the attacking third.
