Orient owner says (live on TalkSport) that the game is highly unlikely to go ahead, comms due to come out soon.

Postponement, not cancellation as he understands.

Nigel Travis, Orient owner just on TalkSport...

I think it's highly unlikely to go ahead. We're expected to get a communication from the authorities any minute now.

However, he later went on to say it's anticipated to be a postponement rather than a cancellation.

I imagine that the delay is because of the clubs disagreeing on the next stage forward. Orient are saying ‘we want to play, here’s a team of players who tested negative who are available’ as they’re desperate for the money, but we’re saying ‘no way are we taking the risk with the health of our players, you need to forfeit as you didn’t send home players who’d been reported as ill and can’t conclusively prove that they’ve not transmitted it to that list of players you’ve provided’.

Off the back of that, it’ll be a conversation between lawyers, not chairmen, and because we can afford Olswang (I think they still do everything for us) and they can only afford Lionel Hutz (anyone who doesn’t get this reference, be ashamed), we’ll get our best case result.

But what if they’ve upgraded from Lionel Hutz to Saul Goodman?

Therein lies the problem then.

Postponement is highly unlikely with our schedule.

When is soon though? Game was meant to be at 6pm. Should have been decided yesterday.

Fuck off, why couldn’t they just give us a pass

Which is strange as the rules state of they can't field a team it must be forfeited. Will be strange being a round behind everyone else.

It’ll be interesting to try and find a date to squeeze a rescheduled game in.

He's also saying they could have fielded a team if they needed when asked if they could have played the kids, but he was unwilling to disclose how many players tested positive.

Postponement might be more helpful - means we can't play next Tuesday either (should we have won the first tie) eases our immediate fixture congestion with vital European games to play. Unless they do something stupid with the rescheduling of course.

So Newcastle Sunday, Leyton Monday, Chelsea Tuesday and Rostov Thursday ?????? Can’t see a postponement, will have to be cancelled

Orient owner does seem to be contemplating a forfeit. He’s expecting a postponement. Seems to have his head in the sand.

Orient would have made £150,000 from the game, sounds like they've spoken to EPL and EFL about special dispensation for the rearrangement in order to fulfil the fixture dispute the rule about a bye for the other team.

If it’s a postponement, I imagine it’ll be next Tuesday instead of the Chelsea match, with the Chelsea match being played at some point before the following round. But whether that’s enough time for Orient players to recover, I doubt it.

In reality this shouldn’t go ahead. Gutted because I was really looking forward to it. I don’t blame the chairman for hoping for the best but I think deep down he must know it can’t happen.

He says they have a team that has been socially distanced ready and available to play though, obviously won't be of their first team level

No way it gets postponed 100% forfeit, I'm sure the club will help them cash wise in some way
