Most overrated player at the club. Yet some on here think he's the next Iniesta.
Just contributes nothing for me. No a solid player defensively, creates nothing, and I could live with that if he at least was steady but he clearly even gets the basics wrong. At least jenas, for all his lack of imagination, scored a few goals and never made a mistake THAT bad. Bentaleb is a fraud and the fact that Dier looks the better midfielder today says it all. People use in vogue phrases for Bentaleb like 'recycles possession' and 'great on the half turn' whatever the fuck that means, all I see is an athlete with half decent touch, no imagination and a lot of mistakes. Recycles possession? Yeah, recycles it right to the other team!

What the fuck did Walker do wrong? He did as much as he could to get back, got the tackle in and it unfortunately rolled into the net. He couldn't have done anything more.

Yeah got to say I don't get the castigating of him. He did incredibly well to even get there - should have tackled with his right foot maybe. It was the lost ball that screwed us

Dier has played well imo. Doing his job defensively and providing short outlet passes. Done nothing to deserve coming off...

Alli for Bentaleb in about 10 minutes.

Its a team decision

Nothing to do with Dier performance

We get it BT, only you have CL football from now on. You don't need to remind us during every advert break.

The commentators slagged off the Europa League again. That's the whole problem really. The media create excuses for why English teams fuck up and the supporters believe it.

They have four debutants today. It takes time for a team to gel. I was pleased we got them on the first day, fast forward 6 months and playing them at Old Trafford will be a completely different proposition.
They ain't winning the title until they sort their defense out.

Can all the people slamming Bentaleb please remember that all though woeful this half he is:

a: the youngest player on the pitch (with the possible exception of Luke Shaw) and playing in CM
b: he is playing against 50m of midfield talent, infact if you include Depay and Mata who have drifted in field as well that value goes up even higher.

Calm down, give the lad a chance. What happened to giving the youngsters a chance, this means inconsistency.

Disappointing as United haven't been good at all and this is a genuine chance to take something from old trafford. It's been an even game but mistakes always cost us, I really dislike how whenever we lose it in CM we look in big trouble, whereas when they do, which has been more frequent than us, we don't look as dangerous. Need to pin them in like we did for that brief period rather than winning the ball and the first thought being to give it to the CB's.

That's what is so frustrating, Utd have been stuck in 1st gear and look sluggish. Yet we've played into their hands with poor passing, no creativity up top and full backs who seem scared to push forward due to the pace of the utd full backs and wingers, and a complete lack of cover from Chadli and Dembele. We've the same issues as last season. Hopefully the proposed new arrivals will rectify this but as far as this game is concerned the midfield and forward line needs sorting out at half time. Despite Walker having a reasonable game, he offers nowhere near the attacking capability of Trippier. Alli has been on fire and is another who should have started.

probably with our midfield is that we need 3 guys to do a 2 men job. dier, bentaleb not doing much and honestly a pair like mccarthy + kramer would have crushed these 3 buggers. if we got midfielders that does more we could play 1 more attacker

Our bench is depressing viewing. How can you start a new season with no striker in reserve?

What if Kane pulls a hamstring?

Lets make a good start to the second half and hopefully we're still in with a shout.

Bentalab is losing his place to Alli surely if the latter can perform better than him in a few more matches.. Bentalab looks to success too soon, far too soon for his own good.. he better buck-up and proves his worth.. is getting frustrating watching him...

He could have not kicked it into his own net for starters
It was a good tackle, or would you have preferred if he slid in and gave away a penalty and got himself sent off. It's not like he's got the ball and somehow smashed it into his won net.

But he played well against Arsenal and Chelsea so he's clearly the next Zinedine Zidane.

Yeah, because there is no middle ground between a 'pub league' player and zidane.

Your comment can easily be flipped around: "yeah he played badly for 45 minutesa at old Trafford so he must be the next Gary Doherty"

I agree they ain't winning the title. They will be finishing a good 15+ points ahead of us though and comfortably in the top four. They will go close, even if they don't add one or two more
