Sabitzer is more than I could ever hope for. Perfect fit for us and would be a fantastic addition this window if at all possible. Think the reality is this window is for trimming the squad and Sabitzer would likely need to wait until the summer, though.

A workhorse. Am I correct in saying this chap can play multiple positions? If so, it's got Jose type player written all over it

I'll make myself clearer then.

I don't want Kane to go. I want him to stay and win things with us as he himself has re-iterated in the past. However we need significant investment still and have no obvious way of raising the funds. Coupled with COVID having screwed us and the stadium debt we will have to dip back in to the bargain bucket to freshen things up.

Not to go all Danny Rose, but would that excite a player who will be 28 this summer and wants to win things?

It will be in his mind that if he wants top honours, the likelihood is he will have to go elsewhere. Yes he hasn't taken the opportunity to jump ship like Bale did in the past, but that was because he was working with a manager he deeply respected (Poch) and had time on his side. Time no longer is on his side and there is every chance that he will regard it as a now or never situation.

So my being pragmatic about the situation may upset a lot of you, but I see it as making the best out of a bad situation. When Bale left we re-invested it and even though only 2-3 of them worked out, the money from subsequent sales of Chirches, Paulinho et al lead to the purchases of Son and Alderweireld.

If Kane leaves and we get £125-150m for him (no-one will pay north of that thanks to COVID) we can make significant reinvestments into the playing staff and move on a level.
You must be loving the attention

Thought he looked good against us and throughout their champions league run.

although the player I most liked was Angeliño. Thought he was very intelligent and creative player. I see now that he’s on Loan from City, which is a shame.

I'd love Sabitzer, think he has all the attributes we need as CM (Jose will be a big reason he'd chose to join us as we will be competing against some big teams for him).

But the player who really stood out for me was his CM partner Konrad Laimer, thought he looked a player, quick, great defensively in CM and beautiful quick passing. Think he's been injured most this season, but was looking forward to see how he develops.

Just don't see how this gets done without us making a major sale (especially with the news today we are putting contract renewals on hold due to covid uncertainty) but he does feel like the ideal player to push us on.

Look at how bringing in Bruno Fernandes last January window transformed United's form - they went from mid-table to ending the season in 3rd, and this season they are now joint top on points. We have a gaping hole in quality for the player alongside Hojbjerg, and if Sabitzer is the man identified as who we want to fill that hole, we should go all out to get him.

Our squad is bloated and there doesn’t seem to be any indication of when fans will be allowed back in stadiums. I’m sure if we didn’t have to factor in these issues then I’m sure we might try and sign him.
