Marouane Fellaini (born November 22, 1988 in Etterbeek) is a Belgian football player, currently playing for Standard Liège in the Jupiler League. Fellaini was born to Moroccan parents and as a child belonged to numerous football academies. He began playing football at the age of seven for Anderlecht. He was at the club's academy until aged ten when he joined Mons and three years later joined R. Francs Borains. He then left the club and was signed by Sporting Charleroi.
He is very tall and has a good heading ability. His stamina makes him one of the best box to box midfielder in the Jupiler League
At the age of seventeen he signed his first full-time contract with Standard Liège. On October 1, 2006 Fellani was linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur by British tabloid newspaper the News of the World. Scouts from Arsenal are also rumoured to have watched the player.

Yes, he got sent off after 18 minutes last night. Hasn't he been mentioned before? Is he one of Spursking's 'One to watch +' boys?

Am Belgian. Know him very well. Holding midfielder, but capable of the box-to-box role too. Very strong and aggressive (got sent off twice for belgium in one week). Wins nearly every header he's going for with his heigth. He can be massive in a couple of years.

If his aggresive streak can be properly controlled sounds very promising. Thanks for sharing

what did he get sent off for? if its for getting caught out of position and lunging in then it doesnt sound too promising, if its for dangerous play or elbowing and the like i dont think i want a player that cant control his aggression, a player getting sent off never helps the team.

Cheers for info

He sounds exactly like the type of tough MF we need - get him in if he's any good :)

Against Finland (last week) he got a second yellow for a hard tackle on the opponent's half, pressurizing but coming in too hard. Caught the player and deserved to be sent off. Yesterday with the U21 was a joke second yellow for a routine foul. He's simply too strong physically for the players on that tournament. He played against Joao Moutinho last saturday (Belgium U 21 - Portugal U 21) and it was like the portuguese magician wasn't playing that night. He lost every ball to Fellaini.

Only problem is he has to learn to control his aggression. It's natural hard playing, no elbows or dirty fouls just because he's caught out or something. It's just natural aggressive play. Would not like to play footie against this kid.

From what Belsunz says, he could be a real snip for £500k.

Of course, that's according to Pablo.
