Sounds the sort of guy whose career probably won't come along under us, but for 500k we could sign him, loan him to Fulham, he keeps them up on his own and then comes back to us the season after. Everybody's happy.

Simple this transfer lark, innit?

I'm convinced that pablo is tipping off tribalfootball.

Tottenham are in advanced talks for Standard Liege midfielder Marouane Fellaini.
The 18 year-old prospect is expected to move to White Hart Lane for an initial £500,000.

Am Belgian. Know him very well. Holding midfielder, but capable of the box-to-box role too. Very strong and aggressive (got sent off twice for belgium in one week). Wins nearly every header he's going for with his heigth. He can be massive in a couple of years.

Jesus - is he still growing? 2m+?

Decent player, I saw him in Finland-Belgium game where he was sent off, but played well and more like in defensive role.

well this one would have the big 4 running scared.

we have a good squad of players what we need are 4 top quality proven players,

BMJ. DL AND DC have all said that they want to improve all levels of our squad and that includes future players. So it seems in line with our buying policy to me

He does sound like an uncompromising type of player, a midfield hard man. Particularly with his height he sounds in the mould of Viera.

Just posted this in the Kaboul thread but mentions him also..
from the Daily Mail ( I know )
Jol is set to sign Auxerre central defender Younes Kaboul, 21, for £7.5million and is close to a £500,000 deal for Standard Liege’s 18-year-old midfielder Marouane Fellaini.

must say it wasnt a sending off unless he could have been sent off before and the ref told him 1 more, never saw the game though

not sure i could ever see this guy playing for us, hopefully were going to buy a top notch defensive midfielder, then we got zoko as back up to him, with thudd 3rd choice, how would this new guy ever get a game? i dont see the point in collecting midfielders like we do,

he plays in the U21 with Jonathan Blondel, don't know if he's advising him for or against coming to WHL tbh.

It would be a bargain signing for £500 000. He is a very good box to bax player. A tall midfielder, with quite good tecnique and with very good heading ability.

I hope we sign him.

Here's his profit from the offical EURO 2008 site.

http://www.uefa.com/competitions/euro/players/player=104237/index.html

A substitute throughout the qualifying campaign, Marouane Fellaini is a tall, imposing defensive midfielder who can also operate at centre-back.
• Played for RSC Anderlecht and R. Charleroi SC at junior level before moving to R. Standard de Liège.
• Featured in 30 games for Standard in 2006/07, scoring three goals.
• Made his debut for the senior Belgium team against the Czech Republic in February 2007 and scored his first international goal in the UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifier against Portugal on 2 June.

That's quite impressive.

Yep - the more I hear the more I like - never seen him but he seems well worth the gamble

So is he a defensive midfielder or box to box (bax?) player?

was about to ask the same thing

and unless Belgium qualify then we wont be seeing him again at the u21 to have a good look at him

I think both Holland and Belgium would go through with a draw, so hopefully they will do the sensible thing and therefore we get a chance to see him in the next round.
