We do seem to attract weird levels of hate from small clubs.

It's because a lot of these other supporters remember us being on a similar level to them in the 90s and early 00s. So they still think of us as being on that level, because we have no right to organically increase our stature to become one of the big clubs in world football while they still stay at the level they've always been, looking up at us through their glass ceiling.

You'll notice that these types of people are 30+ years old. The younger generation of these fans only know Spurs as a "big 6" club in England.

The two clubs are believed to have now come to an agreement on that deal and football.london understands that Spurs are keen to wrap up the move completely before Doherty must meet up with his Republic of Ireland team-mates early next week ahead of their Nations League game in Bulgaria on Thursday.


Doherty has been on holiday in Sardinia and was expected to return to the UK on Thursday afternoon, with Wolves' players having been recharged after only finished their campaign on August 11 with their Europa League quarter-final defeat to Sevilla.
With the defender's return to the country and with Italy being within a UK travel corridor and requiring no need for isolation, the deal can edge towards its conclusion with a medical for the player within the next 48 hours as well as the usual formalities taken care of.

All in all, Jose went for talent that has Prem experience which feels like something we haven’t done as a tactic in quite some time -
maybe since the Redknapp or Jol days? I think it reasonable business if it’s the 15m.

I wonder if this was the preferred FB - simply because it doesn’t seem like Levy’s preferred business is a player in his prime due to future sell on value. I guess I’m kinda surprised Castagne has either another preferred destination or isn’t the player.

Wolves are actually very far from being a small club. Time was, in fact, that they were the biggest club in the country - albeit back in the 1950’s.

Sure, they’ve plumbed the depths and have been woefully mismanaged over the years - from boardroom down. But they’ve always had big support and great potential. Now that they’re finally getting their act together, the fans have every reason to feel optimistic. They’re still some distance below us in the food chain. But they are climbing.
