Don't know if this has been mentioned but in the Telegraph article about Dele to PSG on loan it was mentioned that Conte loves Dele but Inter couldn't even afford a loan. Perhaps the prospect of moving Dele to Inter in some way has led to us going back in for Skriniar

And Eriksen there to help him settle lol

(I hope we keep Dele though)

Guess you don’t bring José on to replace Poch and not back him entirely. If these rumored moves happen and Jose can’t make some magic happen, got to think he is well and truly past it.

I think there's more chance of getting Skriniar and Milik for lower fees than Vinicius and Dias.

If Benfica sell they have to sell high otherwise their fans will fume.

Milik is already out the door - and his contract is out in June - whereas Skriniar isn't wanted by Conte.

Much more chance of getting a favourable deal in Italy.

Yeah it always seemed to me that Milik was Jose first choice. That game against Southampton by Kane might have really allowed strikers to see an opportunity to play alongside him.

He's not the quickest but I'd prefer someone aggressive and dominant.

He's my preferred choice over Dias.

Never seen him play, but I agree we need a dominant CB and preferably one good in the air.

As I’ve said in another thread though, we ain’t paying approx £50m for anyone, unless we sell Dele.

Only thing that might help us in Portugal is the fact Mendes represents both Benfica players. Besides that, I think you're spot on. Definitely situations where Levy loves to do business.

Yeah I agree. But I don't think we'll need to.

Conte clearly wants Skriniar out the door and will probably kick up a fuss as he'll want new bodies in especially if he gets wind of a potential sale. No point having an unwanted player hanging around when they could bring in funds.

Lets see.

Clear from the links to Skriniar, Dias and Kim Min Jae that Mourinho is after someone who looks to dominate the opposition forwards and is an aggressive, front foot defender who is comfortable stepping out and putting out fires further up our defensive third. All 3 look pretty good aerially to. Believe all are right footers though and would be good to have a left footer for a better balance.

Feel Dias is his first choice but Skriniar not too far behind and we are probably putting out feelers for both and seeing whether we can get a deal for one of them that works for us when it comes to the financials. Kim Min Jae of course doesn't have the experience of playing in a higher tier league so more of a gamble in terms of whether he can make the jump but obviously would come for a much lower fee. Wouldn't be surprised if we turned to him at the death once we know for sure there's no chance with the other two. Think he'd be prepared to wait until then if it means getting a move to us and teaming up with Son.

I love how at the start of the window, we were debating how much difference in fee there was between PEH purchase and KWP sale trying to control net spend, and now were debating which 40-50 mil centre back would be better after signing bale and one of the most highly rated left backs in Europe. Amazing.

Which is exactly why I’ll believe it when I see it.

I can see why we after Skriniar and Dias, alongside a striker, but with our limited budget, I'm suprised more players haven't left by now (not for the lack of trying i'm sure).

Kim Min-Jae will take time. He is the one I would be going in for. Huge upside and we will get in for less because of Son. He wants to come which greatly limits his club. According to the ITK, it's complicated. Not sure how, but then military service, work permits could all be the complications. Regardless, that is how I would be leaning.

Both Skriniar and Dias are reputable top-level CB's. If either came, it would be an upgrade. That said, is the price worth it? Not so sure. There is a coaching issue. I'd address that first. All three games we were ripped apart by the exact same set piece from Lloris' right. 2 goals and but for a brilliant save against Southampton, it would be three games, three goals from the exact same play. Woeful doesn't even cut it. Why are our defensive players chasing opposition players? Attack the ball. Already beat and on the wrong side of the ball. Our MF's and CB's all back off from the attacking players.

Need Tanganga healthy. Need Dier back at DCM as he is the only player who will put a foot in and will put his body on the line. I think he will be an acceptable CB, but we need better than acceptable. IMO, his value is far better protecting the back 4. Even have him as the centre of a back 3 stepping up to deal with the attacks up the gut. Even Davies would be a good LCB option. Positionally he is sound and I doubt as he is the type of player to play WB for Mourinho. He just does not have the pace or the dribbling. Aurier does well (just rash defensively) and Doherty has already shown some really good give and go's. I suspect as Reguilon will be better than both. He may need time. There is a lot of pace and ability there.

My plan would be, bring in Kim Min-Jae, Dier up to DCM, Davies in to CB along with Alderweireld, Sanchez, Tanganga, Kim Min-Jae, Aurier and Doherty on the right, Reguilon and Sessegnon on the left. Lots of back up and options in all of that as many can play multiple positions.

Spend the money on the striker you want. Whoever "THAT GUY" is, go get him.
