I would have said RWB, but actually CB has to be the priority.

In reality we've got Romero who everyone would agree is far and away our #1.

Of all the others - Dier, Davies, Sanchez, Tanganga - I don't think many people would be sad to see any of them leave. If we get a couple of injuries or suspensions, our only choice at this point is to recall Rodon. Who, admittedly, I rate above Tanganga but it's still a woeful situation. You'd almost prefer bringing Paskotsi in, at least to start from the bench, and see if he's any less calamitous than our current offering.

Either way, the state of our back line is dismal.

At least with RWB, we have Doherty who can do a job (intermittently, but on his day...), and Spence who may one day start. Those two plus Emerson should tide us over until the end of the season unless someone like Porro become feasible in January.

It has to be ccb, dier did well for us up until his form went off a cliff. Now we are in desperate need of a ccb and he needs to be a leader. Experienced and commanding.

I am ok with Romero and lenglet, the rest should be upgraded. Davies, dier and sanchez all have mistakes in them. Rodon and tanganga not ready at this level. So yeah....

An experienced ccb, a quality rwb and then a creative midfielder. Maybe another right cb as well as I worry about Romeros fitness.

Yeah, I'm voting CB too. Romero is the only CB we have at the club right now that I'm happy with. Dier was dependable last year, but he's slipped back again. Sanchez, Davies and Tanganga all have holes in their game, although Davies I trust somewhat more than those two. I'm also still on the fence regarding Lenglet.

Creative attacking player to rotate with deki, be an impact sub and also give an option for 3 in midfield. Maddison would be ideal.
I can live with our current defenders (they can play better as we saw last season) and doc/Spence at rwb for rest of season but we are so reliant on deki to link the play and have limited attacking bench options

I cannot stand to see Dier/Davies/Sanchez starting for us again. Or even coming off the bench, they're all liabilities and will cost us a goal when properly targeted by the opposing team. Until those 3 stop playing regularly we will keep conceding unnecessary goals and losing games.

CM for me. I miss seeing a quality Modric style player in midfield. Our defence would look more comfortable if other teams felt more threatened by our CM being able to create and score. I'm a fan of bentancur and Hojbjerg but a cheeky maestro pulling the strings would be great to see.
