Yep agree with others that if there are good HG options out there it would be mental to use a non HG for a keeper. Obvious exception is someone like Lloris, who was French captain and went on to be a WC winner.

Raya does seem like the most obvious choice, with Forster staying as back up.

I'd like Kelleher from Liverpool, potential to be a brilliant number 1 for 10 plus years. Homegrown, excellent shop stopper, calm, comfortable with the ball at his feet, looks a good penalty stopper to. The only thing i am not sure about is how well he organizes those in front of him but thats just because we haven't seen enough of him.

Looks like a Kevin

A bloody difficult position to fill!

rhere really are fine margins between quality of a prem standard keeper, really difficult to break through youth ranks too, an old head mindset when it comes to keepers.

heard it from conte himself, loris is our no.1, so no matter how well Forster plays, loris will be back in and that is something that is with a lot of managers to be honest.

it’s a specialist position that many managers don’t really fully understand, years of learning and studying so they get heavily on the goalkeeper coaches for feedback, wtc

rather than state a name, as there you could pick issues with any keeper, I’d like one that is consistent across the key areas really, I know that sounds obvious but much harder than you imagine

Raya for me out of the HG options. Much better than Pickford, Sanchez and Martinez IMO.

As @YB123 has said, if it is Enrique (the impression I get) as manager. I would be astounded if it isn't Raya.

Maignan is a brilliant keeper but would cost too much IMO. Livakovic is a good shout he impressed me at the world cup and has been talked about highly for a long time. Still I'd like Raya personally, knows the league, great with his feet and HG.

My son's available. He's only 10 but he's v tall for his age.

Agreed. Seen some saying he’s too short and not great with his feet though (close control)
I think height is something that can be overblown. He's been in the league for a couple of years and I don't recall it ever being an issue (obviously haven't watched him THAT closely), and that's more of an acid test. I remember all the chat about Lisandro Martinez when United signed him and people were acting like suddenly he'd lose every headed duel as if he'd got this far in his career without coming across someone taller than 5'5.

Would be disappointed personally if we sign a HG keeper just because they are, if we want to seriously take care of the position for the next few years. It's been pointed out a million times that we should try to sign the absolute best player possible, like Liverpool did with Alisson at the time, so if we end up with a Raya or a Pickford...that ain't it.

If we're going to insist on continuing to play with a goalkeeper next season, then Raya for me.

It’s a tough one really, most academies look at height for a keeper, I’ve seen some fantastic ones let go due to not getting over 6foot.

clubs literally lined up to sign my lad when he was 9, I’m 6’7 so they knew physically he’d be fine, so it’s one aspect of evening it out, I’m not sure if height is a factor abroad for youth though

I get why it would be a big consideration in youth football, but my point was more about established senior players. We know exactly what we're getting at that stage.

I'd go with any of Livakovic, Anatoliy Trubin, Maignan, or Raya.
Diogo Costa likely costs too much after signing his new contract and I don't know enough about Mamardashvili but I hear he's highly rated, no?
