Dave Hytner from the Guardian has said it never got to the point of an offer... which may be ABSOLUTELY true but the club's communications dept needs to shape the story rather than chase it. There has been 7 to 10 days of stories that have been Slot is the favorite, he's the preferred candidate, etc and silence from the club, then when Slot says something, it now looks like they're putting out those noises to spin that they weren't rejected.

I'm really not sure I believe that Levy refused to pay up for Slot. We've just had two of the most expensive managers available back to back so he definitely isn't afraid of shelling out for it.

I do agree though that whoever is in charge of PR has had an absolute mare over this.

The thing that really depresses me, more than how bad everything is at the moment, is how fleeting the moments of hope have been in the last few years. Take me back to May 31, 2019. Completely agree. (See previous post) It seems more likely Slot wasn't interested than it being a finance issue. Given the importance of the coach.
