Another rubbish buzz word that doesn’t actually mean anything without context.

If only we had stuck with what we had in Poch and backed his rebuild. We’d likely have won something by now. He came closer than either of these ‘serial winners’ who play defensive anti-football.
Doesnt even matter if we hadn't won anything, I wouldn't have endured miserable football for 3 years and hate my club.

Give it to Levy and when Levy doesn't back him Levy will sack Levy and we'll no longer have to deal with Daniel Levy
This is the worst thing you could do.

When he's sacked it would mean a payout to Levy. More likely to avoid that he'd move himself upstairs to DOF or onto the board.

Then we'd have two Levys in charge.

I don't because that would mean Winks would be back. Also if he did and we did somehow make 4th Levy will find an easy cheap option in keeping him on for the next season.
I think Ryan will become a good manager but we are in to much a mess for him and he needs to cut his teeth in a championship team like Carrick.
What’s this got to do with Harry Winks? A player that can pull the strings in a 4231? Perfect. This is about playing out the season in a good way before selecting a better manager than the 53 year old toddler we have at the moment.

I think there would be similarities to when Poch came. If the club allowed him of course.

Not in terms of style but more approach

Agree. The biggest similarity is that they are both big cuddly personalities. Who buy into the club and think long term.

Right. I've run the candidates through Football Manager using all the metrics that I could remember from the (fucking lengthy) SC gripe list, including words used in interviews, placing of pauses, facial twitches and smiles. Also included were formations, philosophy, use of young players, not using the 'shit' players, substitutions, timing of substitutions, in game management, plans A, B and C, ability to speak English, dress sense, tactical flexibility, natural hair or lack thereof, is he a cheeky chappie, type of football played, project manager or winner, number of gestures made from the touchline, willingness to uproot family, experience of the Premier League, does he play attacking football and can he get us playing like 70's Brazil going forwards and 70's Italy at the back.

Sadly, no candidate ticked every box so some of you are going to be disappointed. Especially those with a penchant for unnatural hair and the whole 1970's thing.

Sirry i diagree about Harry Winks about that's only my opinion😀 i think Conte shouldn't went public about the players but it is true what he said not that Levy cares as long as he is making money.

I think amourin or poch are best suited to our current squad, which is important as if we limit the turnover we can focus on a few high quality players in positions of weakness (eg CB)

I'm still of the opinion that given the hierarchy isn't going to change, we are better off going for Poch. This is a massive challenge for someone and it will need someone who is given plenty of time and i feel that Poch will be afforded more time than pretty much anyone else.

My choice is still him.

Amorim does often play a similar formation to Conte, but it isn’t reactive, he looks to control possession, keep the ball, use wing backs to create width.

It’s a similar look in terms of 3 CB’s etc but it’s better to watch because it isn’t purely reactive, and counter attack based. It won’t be like Conte where you have to watch your team hemmed in for whole periods of the game in the hope we might counter at some point.

I don't think Poch had the energy to go through the painful rebuild at the time. He looked exhausted after the CL final and definitely needed a break from the club,

Other upsides to Amorim.

+ Walked into an absolute mess of a bloated squad with a mix average players and old players like Wendel, Vietto, Battaglia and Acuna. They had just lost Bruno Fernandes too who was basically Sporting's only reliable player. He sold all of these and wiped the slate clean.

+ Fully trusts youth players, he does not hesitate in putting them in as soon as he walks in the door.

+ Replacing from within. If Spurs were to lose Kane, Im certain he'd give Scarlett and Lankshear as much chances as possible.

+ Uses a fluid front three, so again, if we lost Kane he'd work around it quite well.

+ Has a fantastic relationship with his players and his younger players love him for giving them chances.

+ He always takes blame for defeats and takes any pressure from young players.

+ He is adaptable and resourceful so will always look for solutions in the squad without shoehorning players in.

+ His assistant coach - Carlos Fernandes - is superb on the training ground and is very refreshing in this respect. He's only 28 but has 10 years of coaching behind him.

+ He spent his first summer recalling players who had been loaned out like Palhinha and Reis.
Then raiding talents from smaller Portuguese clubs like Paulinho, Nuno Santos, Pedro Goncalves whilst promoting players like Inacio and Tiago Tomas.

All of these players became major players for them.

He fits what we are looking for by a lot of metrics and I can certainly see him fitting at the club.

He won't kick off if players are sold and if the club decide to buy a bunch of young talents that he didn't ask for, he would still use them and find use for them.

Good points but PL is such a tough league there is no chance he plays Scarlett in such a key position so soon

This is the problem. We need to rebuilt our academy asap. I lost counts how many ex academy players of City, Chelsea, United or Arsenal now play in the PL. Chelsea has created a lucrative business on their academy. We still f*ng has the best facilities with a shitty football structure.

Kompany or Carrick for me

Both clearly have something and play very decent footy

Still far too early in their careers for me. Let them make their mistakes elsewhere, Gerrard and Lampard are perfect examples of managers who came to the Prem too early. Kompany got schooled by Pep yesterday.

He's exactly the type of manager Brighton would go for if they had our squad - a very shrewd continuity pick since he plays a similar formation and could utilise the players we have but would still massively change our style of play and provide a breath of fresh air.

Makes too much sense for us, IMO. We'll probably go for someone who won't be able to use most of our squad then kick them out before they get the squad they want.

Probably is way too early but it looks like they have more potential in management that Lampard/Gerrard

Come on City are on fire atm - Leipzig got ‘schooled’ midweek….

Poch wanted out.
