I refuse to believe after forcing Bayern to sack their manager to stop Tuchel coming to us that a matter of weeks later the club are going to go for someone who is in the championship

The way this season is looking likely to end, I'll now be delighted if someone with Slot's potential upside is willing to come to a club where the hierarchy is clearly not tip top when it comes to footballing matters.

Let's hope the old adage 'money talks' will be enough.

We need to stop basing appointments off this kind of prestige. We are not going to be a CL club next season. I doubt we’ll even be a EL club next season.

As someone else has pointed out, we don’t need a managerial name, we need a coach, with the right ideas, the right attitude and the determination to prove themselves. No more Mourinhos, no more Contes.

Also not Rodgers.

We need a coach not a manager - and I suspect it’s mid table mediocrity whilst whoever the new guy is rebuilds the team
Not necessarily. There was a thought that we would take a step back under Poch, but he was able to make the collective better than the individuals.

A good manager (and coach) could take a minor step back, to take a big step forward. A young team, full of energy and promise will keep the fans on-side for a season,

Again, it will make no difference who we get unless DL steps aside. Today was yet further evidence of how right AC was in everything he said in his rant, in fact current results and play would suggest that AC was helping to paper over greater cracks than we all thought existed. We could put a dream team of Pep and/or Klopp in charge and we would still win nothing and fans would blame the managers again, while levy tops up his wages on an annual basis and charges the highest prices across europe for a third rate team, it's pathetic, sickening and making the club toxic from top to bottom.

Half hearted effort at 16 minutes

Another attempt just after their goal

people went very quiet when asked which manager thought Sanchez was worth 42m though.

anyone who thinks Poch has the match going fan is seriously deluded.

The player we signed from ajax had high potential and a lot of upside. He hasn't developed since then and playing in 5 games a season he's hardly likely to be fresh and on it from the start.

For every dud poch signed there is a great player.

Really? Who?

don’t forget that against him are also: Lo Celso and Ndombele as well. our highest ever signings.

The more I hear about Nagelsman the more I think he’s not the right fit. We need someone void of ego and self preservation
I am coming around to that - sort-of.

But, really I think manager is the least of our worries right now. We need to sort out the squad the summer. We may need to take a step back, and so we don't need to replace/buy big money players - but we need an attitude transformation that will only come with new players coming in to work their socks off for the new manager.

Wanyama, Davies, Toby, son, trippier, dier early in his career with us, Alli amongst others.

Easy to remember the flops. Looking at Mourinho and now Conte failing to get anywhere near Poch's achievements says all you need to know.

None of whom were record signings (maybe son was?) and killed our transfer dealings for years afterwards.
He actually binned trippier for no reason and replaced with aurier!

Thought Conte was Levy's last chance?
Apparently not.
After Mourhinio Nuno and Conte anyone of the three would be a welcome change.
