Didn't say I wouldn't get behind them. Just don't agree that they are who we should be looking at.
I meant that you are not wrong with who you want - it's personal choice. I just hope that we can find someone who will largely overcome the polarisation of the last few years.

Kompany would not be my first choice. He’s not proven at the top level like Nagelsmann or Poch, or hasn’t even had a chance to build attractive & competitive teams at that level like De Zerbi, Rodgers or Potter. Slot is also proving himself at a higher level. Unfortunately there are just so many examples of managers looking good in the Championship but failing to deliver in the Prem: recently, see Parker, Farke or Lampard; before that, Bruce or McCarthy or any number of others.

I will be 100% behind him if he’s the pick however.

I’m currently leaning towards Kompany, I mean, he can have a word with Harry. The guy has a bloody Statue of himself outside of a ground.

VK: Hey Harry, I wanted to speak to you. I know it’s been a tough few years, but if you stay with us, and buy in to what we’re doing. I believe we can achieve great things. Your legacy will be complete if we can achieve something here. If you stay, you will have your own statue outside of this very magnificent ground, FOREVER! If you leave now? I’m not sure you’d be getting that.

Or something similar. In that video, he’s also talking to the older players and how he improved when he got to 30. That’s a big pull. He’s bridging the youth with experience, which we have so often not done at this club.
Hey Vincent. Is that you??

We're dropping like a stone and 4 of our next 5 games are against Newcastle, man utd, pool and villa (3 of which are away from home) so likely to get no wins from any of those.
Brighton & villa likely now to finish ahead of us leaving us in 7th & if pool hit even a bit of form then we'll be 8th.
If levy wants a manager he better have an iron clad agreement in place quickly because our options likely to reduce as each game passes

And unfortunately there is many "proven" managers/winners not cutting it in the prem aswell.

To be honest i dont really know. Who can know? It will always be a gamle when appointing.
I like the thought of Poch returning. I like what Kompany has done in Burnley..and he seems to be a guy with the tight mentality, a winner etc etc.

It's a sad state of affairs. I'm nowhere near back home yet after today and I'm stopped at the services (yes I've started going again like a muppet).

Anyway, not doing this shit anymore. It's a 7.5 hour round trip for me in the car.

Took my eldest (11 year old) who always comes to Spurs with me to a local league 1 game a week ago. 6,500 there. After 20 minutes my lad goes "eh Dad, don't be mad but this atmosphere is way better here than Spurs". He was bang on. What a joke.

I feel like i don't care who comes in. I'm absolutely sick of spending hard earned money on this fucking banter club.

None of them worked out, but let's be honest most of us would have appointed Mourinho and Conte if it came down to it. The mistake was not backing Poch.
I didn't want Mourhinio or Conte not because they aren't elite managers.
I knew Levy wouldn't back them.
What a waste of 4 year's.

I know I'm a bit biased, but doesn't matter how I see it, Gallardo always comes on top.
  • Gallardo has what we liked about Poch (the football style, the sense of belonging with the team) and what we wanted from Mourinho & Conte but never got (titles). I don't see any of the other candidates with both this things. Maybe Luis Enrique, but it's hard to judge a manager when you have Messi, Suarez and Neymar in your team.
  • Gallardo is also a manager that had to rebuild his team every single year. That meant that maybe half of the team that played the previous season, was part of the team in the next one. And that sometimes meant changing all of his tactics. All of this with a very tight budget. In his first season in charge of River, he bought only 1 player and gave every player at the club the chance to prove themselves. That resulted in 3 players that had been frozen by the previous manager, turning into key players. I have no doubt he could work wonders with the players we have.
  • He's a great professional. I can't remember a manager that handles so well the media and is so well regarded by every player. He's a bit like Bielsa in this sense.
  • He knows how to win big games, and he knows how to motivate his team. Even if his team is full of players that never won a thing. Whenever there was a make or brake game, you always knew the team was going to show up. All of this elimination games agains River's fierce rival Boca, Gallardo's team was extremely focused and motivated from the first minute. If you watch both games of the Libertadores finals you can understand what I mean. That cup win is as if we won against Arsenal in the Champions League final.
The jump between the league in Argentina and the PL is shorter that most think. Games there are very intense. And it's not like we are talking about a manager from the Malaysian league. It's the league from the current WC champions. 2 of WC winners were raised by Gallardo in River and played for River only 4 months before the WC. And they are both now in the PL and had no problem adapting. I'm talking about Julian Alvarez and Enzo Fernandez.

I honestly don't know how he's not even in contention and someone like Kompany is.
