Is the complete change in style of play at Burnley evidence that he may know how to coach or not?
But any manager coming in to be fair was going to go away from that Dyche style, they were under mike jackson for a while and Burnley have a few players who can play so it’s not as revolutionary as you’d think.

I thi k you're understating the changes he's made. Changes that can only come about with good training.

This is where I’m at too. My first choice was de Zerbi but he showed himself to be a bit of a twat last weekend and we don’t need any more of that. Kompany ticks a lot of boxes and I think we’re at a point where we need to roll the dice. I’d continue that with the playing squad as well - get back to buying promising talent (the likes of Olise, Eze etc before they made the move to the PL), alongside more established players. It will no doubt come with a downturn in league position to start with and fans would need to be patient (no sniggering) but if you could see a plan then it would be a hell of a lot easier to get behind than the current aimless drifting. We need the right person to unite everyone and drastically improve the mood around the place. In general, I think I’d now much rather we went for someone with much less of a reputation over here, and probably someone who has never managed in the PL before.

Ultimately, knowing how we operate, it’s probably just wishful thinking as it will take a huge change from those at the top, which we all know won’t happen. Really sad how it ever got to this point
I think with Munn coming in (City guy) Kompany implementing a philosophy from the academy through to the first team should be a lot easier. Watch this Video of Kompany's first meeting with Burnley players.

The amount of fans sat near me who scream at us for trying to pass out from the back whilst also screaming at us for not having the ball, or playing attacking football makes me think that maybe a lot of our fans are just thick. If we bring in an attacking manager it’s going to be hilarious reading what our fans find to moan about next.

I get what you’re saying, they’ve also changed about 80% of their starting 11 from last season so he’s not coached the Dyche ball team to play the Man City way, he’s changed the players to he able to play the city way.
Either way he’s doing a great job

I think it's tricky because we are objectively terrible at passing out the back. I dont necessarily think it's the classic old fashioned English ground struggling to adapt to modern football....its more we know with Dier/sanchez and lloris we are rubbish at it and constantly concede attempting it like we did yesterday.....so why keep trying it I these final 8 games or so

If we had a few more defenders and a new manager who could actually get it going then it would be much much more relaxed maybe?

There is a huge amount of impatience currently which is understandable but this person has to be right not just available. And so if time is taken that is fine with me. It certainly doesn't look like we are expecting any kind of announcement or rock solid info yet

This is very true. A lot of the louder voices around me just want us to “get the ball up the fucking pitch”. That’s not football, and it’s certainly not the way that the most successful teams in the modern day play. There is no patience for passing out from the back. I will add, though, we’ve managed to accumulate keepers and defenders who are awful at it.

That's just football fans, if were talking about Kompany he took over the team known as Brexit FC and quicky turned them into a hipsters dream.

There seems to be an almost arrogance here that somehow our fanbase is special or different to any other.

We actually played out from the back very well against Chelsea, Lloris. Literally puts the fear of god into everyone at the back.

Building from the back is of course crucial in possession based football but only if you have the players to do it, which we don’t! So there is some merit in the frustrations of those fans you mention and again comes down to the manager, coaching and tactics. Ie. Play to what you have at your disposal.

Agree. This season is an extremely frustrating one. We're going to be annoyed and pissed off after almost every game until the end of the season and many will bemoan Stellini being in charge.

But I believe better candidates will likely become available, or willing to leave their current club, at the end of the season. I think it's better for the club to hire then.

I'm more worried about this season than next.

If something doesn't change soon I worry about just how toxic things get we look clueless.

We have time to think and make a sensible decision for next year but I'd rather not totally implode this year

There’s zero merit if the next thing you’re moaning about is we need to see more of the ball.

With a proper, positive coach that can lift the whole place we're not in as bad a place as it seems. This 'rubbish' squad with negative tactics and a toxic environment sit above Chelsea, Liverpool, Brighton and another dozen teams in the table of the most competitive league in the world. Proper system, proper coaching, positive atmosphere and a good leader can turn things around quite quickly. Spence, Porro, Romero, Davies, Dier, Udogie, Bentancur, Bissouma, Sarr, Skipp, Kulu, Kane, Son, Richarlison, Perisic is a starting point - they have all been part of successful, progressive teams in their careers.
Add a few of the new manager's picks at GK, CB and AM and things can look very different!

This is why I would like Slot out of the 3, he seems to really want the job and has this unity vibe around him.

The club needs a healing.

What sensible, realistic, managerial decision could we make for the last 7 games of the season?
