When you mentioned not imploding this season, I thought you meant we needed to make a change.
I do.

Ok so I meant 😂 that next season is in the future and we can take our time, do some research and make the right call.

For this though if we carry on as we are I dread to think how bad it will get.

What chance of Levy getting rid of Stellini and putting Ryan Mason in charge.
he’s just as stubborn as Conte. Leaves Danjuma and Richarlison on the bench.
we are an absolute mess. The next three games suit us better as we can counter attack but that defence is a nightmare. Even Romero is playing like a plank.

There’s zero merit if the next thing you’re moaning about is we need to see more of the ball.
I get that, I’m just saying that we all want a nice possession based, high tempo based style but don’t have the players. In the heat of the moment some fans maybe don’t have the clarity of thought to see this. Football is a game of passion and emotion after all 👍

Agree. This season is an extremely frustrating one. We're going to be annoyed and pissed off after almost every game until the end of the season and many will bemoan Stellini being in charge.

But I believe better candidates will likely become available, or willing to leave their current club, at the end of the season. I think it's better for the club to hire then.

The flip side of that is the longer we keep throwing in the towel, and the longer our 'fans' create such a toxic environment, the greater the chance of any potential candidate thinking 'Fuck that!' Anybody who thinks they can waltz in and sort the place out quickly must seriously rate themselves.

This time last week, people were stating how De Zerbi’s behaviour had made him no longer a viable option -

After our fans’ (and I use the word in the loosest possible sense) behaviour yesterday, how many of the managers being debated ad nauseum in this thread would consider us to be a viable option…?

You’d have to be crazy to get anywhere near a club with the level of toxicity we currently have.

Seems to me many of our fans need to get out more and enjoy the fresh air and the countryside. Far too much time is being spent worrying and discussing Spurs when there is much more to life.

But to be fair in a Spurs forum for discussing football you're not gonna talk about much else are ya lol.

The amount of fans sat near me who scream at us for trying to pass out from the back whilst also screaming at us for not having the ball, or playing attacking football makes me think that maybe a lot of our fans are just thick. If we bring in an attacking manager it’s going to be hilarious reading what our fans find to moan about next.

Exactly this - the 'get rid of it' and 'forward' people are always moaning that we play like the away side and can't keep the ball, and cheer when Lloris launches it forward to nobody in particular. I hate that we have a (growing imo) number of fans that do this, but the atmosphere and sense of drift comes from the top, and my read is that the complete lack of accountability or authority from top to bottom is what allows this nonsense to fester. It's the same issue to a lesser extent when the crowd ironically cheers Spence on to the pitch - a vacuum of authority allows space for this.

We need a complete refresh, a manager that can rebuild that connection between the team and the crowd and at least give a sense that there's someone in control. Poch was able to do it and his personality dominated the Club in a positive way. I'd be happy with that at least in the short term but I worry that it's an impossible job with the clown show above the manager and the atmosphere around the place that's been getting steadily worse. Will it really matter if we get a Gallardo or Slot, if they need time and patience to build, but won't get it from the crowd who start to boo and moan over individual performances and substitutions, and won't get it from the Club either?

My fear with Kompany or Slot is that both haven't had to deal with much adversity in their coaching career's to date. Coaching Spurs will be on another level, pressure & scrutiny wise than either have dealt with before. Kompany & Burnley have both said on record that promotion was a 3 year plan, they didn't expect things to click so quickly.
With Scott Munn in place & his background with CFG, i think Ange P has to be high up on the list of potential coaches. Any person who can convince Dermot Desmond, a man who doesn't tolerate bullshiters, within a 30min phone call that they are right to lead his club, has something about him.
Interview below gives another insight into his coaching style & beliefs. Personaly think its imperative our next manager wants to be here, is proud to be here & believes in attacking football. Ange P ticks all boxes..

I seriously doubt we will have a new manager wrapped up before this season is over. Maybe at some point in June, but not before.

It’s also seriously unlikely that we’ll see any change in the current temporary arrangement either - maybe, if we get pumped by Newcastle and Man Utd at home - but with 5 games left at that point and needing an entire temporary staff before then hiring an entire new permanent staff a month later I doubt it would happen. The time to do that would have been when the decision was made to remove Conte, it’s too late now - we’ve made our bed and now we have to lie in it.

Just like the optimism overflows when results are good, so too is the pessimism over the top right now. We just need to bring this season to an end. (I reckon we’ll finish 8th, for what it’s worth.) We then need an enthusiastic and positive new manager with an entirely new coaching staff and the atmosphere will immediately be different when players return from their holidays on or close to 1 July. The new boss can choose from our 35 or so players, including current loanees, and identify for Paratici or his successor where the gaps are from his perspective. (In fact, this work can and will get well underway before 1 July.) So just like the players need to keep their composure on the pitch, we as a fanbase need to keep our composure and some fucking perspective. This season is a write-off; go enjoy the cricket or baseball or your family or whatever for a few months. Next season, we go again.

I'll be honest I don't remember too many other home crowds where it is starting to become common place to actively boo individual players because they make mistakes.
It's the next day and this is still every bit as infuriating as it was yesterday if not more so. While it is their "right" to boo, it is not in their nor our best interest to do so and it is apparent that many share that sentiment. Does anyone know if there were any fights yesterday attempting to get people to stand down? You would think that they would be inevitable and DL has to prevent that at all costs. That's not the kind of fights that DL had in mind when he built this magnificent stadium.

We need to announce the new manager sooner rather than later. and as long as it is one of the commonly mentioned names, that should slow down the toxic build up

I may have to eat my words if Poch is announced but I don't know some keep saying get the new coach in now.

All of Slot, Kompany and Postecoglu are in jobs with big objectives.

We cant buy them out. They wouldn't change their current sitiations either, only a mad man will do that.

When you hire a coach this late in the season you are simply going for 'short term' gain and are highly to be compromising the strategy you had.

If you've identified the aforementioned 3 coaches as priority, you don't get off track and appoint someone else.

Levy's bad decisions are just coming home to roost and we need to sit through these painful few weeks until we can do something about it.

If Levy fired Stellini and appointed Poch or someone else I would be furious as it couks have been done weeks ago.

If the club have a plan, STICK TO IT

This isn’t meant as an attack; but doesn’t it figure that Spurs fans discuss all things Spurs on a Spurs forum?

It’s like the help-line complaining about people asking for help.

I read it as him referring about the people booing at the stadium.

He's completely changed the way they play, and in a very short time. That's done on the training pitch.
It wasn't done on training pitch though, it was done by transfers. Only 8 players in the whole squad remained from the last season, over 60% minutes in league was played by new players, from the 10th most used players 7 were new signings. And I guess someone like Connor Roberts after playing at Swansea under Potter and Cooper were already able to play more attacking, ball-dominant football before Kompany came.
