I'm glad there's no news coming out. That to me makes me think the club have wrapped up a Slot or a Kompany and don't want to leak it and derail those managers' seasons.

I'm also glad the stories in the media we keep seeing rehashed seem to be a lot of guessing which also means the club has sealed up a lot of leaks.

Agreed. I think Nagelsmann, Poch and Enrique are all the options being driven by the media more or less. We probably liked JN but knew it wasn't in our favor given the setup at Chelsea. Whereas I believe we will be going for Slot or Kompany (maybe Ange) the hardest. In the end, I think we are trying to copy Arsenal's homework a little bit, but it's what we've needed since Mourinho left, when the squad felt stale, the football followed suit and a full reset was needed. I hope Munn is the true start of that, Paratici being fired into the sun will be a good 2nd step, and hopefully 3rd would be a DoF shortly followed by Slot/Kompany. I highly doubt a DoF comes before a manager, which is dumb but whatever.

We can't undo the ass-backwardsness of apparently engaging in a manager search with a Chairman who is supposed to be stepping back from the footballing side, a crooked DoF being allowed to hang around longer than he should instead of being methodical with the structural appointments which eventually lead to a managerial appointment, but it doesn't mean it has to be a colossal fuckup still.

Aside from his choices of manager, and even then i actually don't mind Enrique, it will be sad to see Paratici go. He really did pick out some good players and even the ones we are supposedly scouting such as Gabri Veiga are very exciting talents. Anyway, assuming he does go we have to move on and replace him now not in 6/7 months. Ideally with someone who wants Gallardo as their first choice for manager :D

You'd hope so but we heard lots of talk in 2021 about how things were happening behind the scenes despite it being quiet and that we would make an announcement shortly after the season ended. Well, we know how that went...
I maybe wrong, but weren’t there rumours that some of the leaks came via Hitchen?

I may be getting confused with another manager search (maybe van Gaal?) but didn't it come out later on that we had someone on the verge of being announced in 2021 early in the summer only for them to back out at the last moment?

Granted, we then bounced from Fonseca to Gattuso to Nuno with an approach to PSG for Pochettino in there somewhere and probably half a dozen others as well, all suggesting that we didn't have a Plan B in place...

If I recall correctly we wanted Rodgers who then said no....then conte suddenly came available and that came quite close but broke down....all the while Poch wanted out of psg and we were talking to him byt PSG blocked it. Think Ten Haag was floating around in this bit but bombed the interview.

The Paratici came in and the search basically restarted and that's when we then went Fonseca>gattuso>nuno

It’s just not true that PSG blocked anything. They actively wanted him gone if they could get some compo for him

It's Conte I was thinking of in 2021. From memory he was the first choice at the time but backed out as he decided he wanted a longer break (and possibly had premonitions of how well him and Levy would get on...)

The rest is mostly the same but a little bit on Amorim
“Meanwhile, Mail Sport understands the club are exploring an interest in Sporting Lisbon head coach Ruben Amorim.

The Portuguese is rated among the best emerging coaches in Europe and is on Tottenham’s radar. He has also been on Chelsea’s radar. Tottenham insist the appointment of Antonio Conte’s long-term successor is an open process with no set first-choice as it stands.”

Amorim was my early shout for one that I could see happening.

Then we had that story he wouldn't work for Levy and it all went quiet. But very possible that story was bs
