Just let’s get a manger who doesn’t moan, doesn’t blame everyone else, plays football, and takes responsibility.

his last outbursts about wanting the directors to speak on his behalf is crazy. What manager, sane ones that is, want their directors discussing tactics, transfer policy, training matters with the press and public. Conte really is too much.
You obviously haven't read what he actually said or you wouldn't say this.

He said someone from the club should answer questions on the direction of the club and what the strategy is.

There was nothing about tactics or training. Youve just made that part up.
Perhaps if we didn't have to pay some of the highest season ticket prices in the country fans would have more patience.

I think if the team was playing badly and getting results or playing well and not getting the results we would have more patience however when they are playing bad and not getting results that's when we get itchy feet.
Yeah, damn Conte setting the ticket prices so high. Why is he charging us ludicrous money.

Fuck sake.

Never said it was Conte setting the ticket prices however if your paying to go to a game you want entertainment or to get a result and that is down to Conte

You said if we didn't have to pay the highest ticket prices fans would have some patience. But he doesn't control the ticket prices so that's not a stick to beat him with about having patience.

The man at the top sets the prices and time and time again has let the fans down with his half arsed approach to the football side of the club.

Conte only controls what's on the pitch so using the ticket prices as a reason to want him out, or as a reason to have a go at him over anything else, is nonsense.

Read this. Objectively If you can

Speaking at his press conference to preview the game at the Etihad Stadium, Conte repeatedly claimed he was answering similar questions he has fielded previously.

When asked if it would help if other senior figures from the club spoke out on issues, the Italian replied: “In England, there is a bad habit that there is only the coach to speak and to explain.

“I have never seen the medical department come here to explain why this player is having difficulty to recover.

“It’s the same also, I have never seen the club or sporting director come here to explain the strategy and vision of the club. In Italy for example, before every game there is a person from the club who has to go before the media and answer every question.

“For us (managers), it could be really, really better. Because otherwise, every time there is only one face to explain a situation which I think is better for the club to explain. But this is a habit and I respect this habit.

“In Italy, it’s different, the person from the club during the game-week speaks and explains many situations. If only the coach speaks there are sometimes misunderstandings"

“I think it would be good to have the club present in the media and to speak. Not every week but at least every 15 days or once a month.

“In this way it could also be more simple for the media to understand the situation. And not only have one face and always the same face.

“Believe me it’s difficult because everything I tell you could be a criticism or negative, and this is not the truth.”

While Levy rarely speaks on the record, Conte said he had no plans to ask the club to instigate his suggested changes to media access.

“I am not going to ask anything (of the club),” he said. “This type of situation is good for every club – ‘don’t go into the media’.

It's obvious he's fed up of being misquoted or misunderstood about stuff that is not in his remit (contracts, club objectives, injuries, etc)

Its easy for Pep to go in front of the media about these things because his club and him know what they are doing etc. Pep is a hugely influential figure.

Levy doesn't have to go in front of the media and tell the world what his objectives are for the club. How can Conte answer that?

Still too soon for a poch return. Too many of his ex players are here. Need the likes of levy, davies, dier, son and Kane to have moved on before he returns.

I was saying this to mates when the season restarted after WC. They should have Conte and we should have Potter
Yeah we'd be now struggling to score goals and not conceding them and Chelsea would be banging them in and shipping them in the other end.

Six months after getting us top 4 and our fans want Conte out.

Four months after getting us to a CL final (following 5 of some of the best years of our recent history) and our fans wanted Poch out. Quite a few wanted him out in his first season before the Villa/Kane FK game.

Our fan base isn't and will never have the patience for a full rebuild.

The patience will have to come from the board who will stick with the manager even if the fans want him out. They have to hire someone that they will truly commit to and believe in.
The only people they have ever committed to or commit to is themselves.

Unfortunately, we are now going to have to be very patient (like we haven't enough).

If we change coach, they need to be able to bring in the FUNDAMENTALS - A GK, A CB, WBs/RBs - the rest is gonna take time.

I dont think our players are as bad as they are made out to be. The problem we have is the coach, who is a good one but not the right profile for ENIC or the players. We just need the right coach. In an ideal world, we remove ENIC but that is the long game.

Our form from Nov 2021 to May 2022 was fantastic, only few points off liverpool and city. So the potential is there.

The only player he has integrated into the team is Perisic , from last season we haven’t really improved the team and Son, Hugo , dier , Davies , Sess . Royale have either regressed or not improved . We’re at the end of Jan and Richarlison our £60m signing barely plays and hasn’t scored a league goal , Bissouma makes Sissoko look decent and Spence will be loaned out . Lenglet is a 6/10 stop gap signing . The rebuild gets bigger every year .

This thread is fundamentally wrong and it is as fundamentally wrong as suggesting what type house to build without putting decent foundations in place beforehand.

No manager in the world is going to change or improve the situation in the longer term with the biggest obstacle in the way in the form of Daniel Levy and ENIC's approach to investment of players and decisiveness in getting rid of players who don't make the grade. It is an indisputable fact of football life that some players who may look like good buys and who might cost a bit don't work out, and this same principle applies to some young players with potential who don't realise their potential, and it also applies to many punts on cheap players and panic buys in the hope it will work out. Clubs with real on the field ambitions decisively act to remove the aforementioned players. Unfortunately this is the antipathy of Levy's strategy, and he either can't or won't ever change, in the same way that leopards don't change their spots, leaving us bloated with flotsam that festers and inhibits us in replacing players that obviously need replacing, and why, it's because unrealistic valuations are placed on them, because Levy and ultimately ENIC are too stubborn to take realistic losses on them.

If Conte goes of his own choosing, or he is forced out, and Levy inevitably tries yet another rug sweeper move, as if we haven't seen countless rug sweeper moves from Levy before, I really hope Conte goes to absolute town on him, and blows the lid off the whole behind the scenes approach.

Yes Levy and ENIC do deserve some credit for the off the field training facilities infrastructure and stadium build, but investment in players and transfer in and out strategy will hinder and continue to hinder any manager who walks though our doors.......

I hope Conte stays and is backed.
But for this thread, some info from Germany.

Tottenham not a serious option for Tuchel - Sky in Germany

Former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is not interested in the Tottenham job if Antonio Conte was to depart at the end of the season, according to Sky in Germany.
The 49-year-old is currently learning Spanish since being sacked by Chelsea in September and is hopeful of taking charge of Barcelona or Real Madrid in the near future.

So, we are getting Ancelotti when the Qataris take over?
