I’m a funeral Celebrant, we should start our own thread…. Supporting spurs is like an ongoing slow lingering death!
It’s like dealing with an awkward family that change their mind every 10 minutes about what they want to do, they then spring random requests on you on the day of the funeral like can the family dog page out with me, then the flowers that turn up aren’t the ones they ordered and the ones from the ex husband aren’t allowed on the hearse so you have to ask the bearers to bring them along, a giant bird shits on the bonnet of the hearse as I’m paging out, the crematorium play the wrong music and close the curtains when they asked for them to be left open and then Grandma Doris trips over some flowers in the flower court and has to be taken to hospital with a concussion.

In case you’re wondering, every single one of these things has actually happened to me on a funeral 😂

Feel your pains, especially the last minute requests as I pull up ready to do the service!😫

Not sure why some think Nagelsmann would be doing us a favour if he was appointed. I think many have been burned by Jose and Conte, so think a big name like Nagelsmann would be similar, but I'm not so sure. This is what he said before we played Leipzig a few years ago.

"Tottenham is a very nice and exciting tie!" he told Leipzig's social media channel. "They're one of Europe's top teams, playing in a fantastic city with star players who have a lot of experience. It won't be easy but we're really looking forward to it, especially playing in that stadium.

"Spurs have a world-class manager in Jose Mourinho. The games will be exciting and we'll need to put in two top performances. We're more than capable of doing that. What a tie! We can't wait!"

He also conducted a sit down interview with The Independent prior to the same match and said:

Nagelsmann admits he has been viewing Tottenham matches “since Mauricio Pochettino was there. He is a really good manager and his team was great to look at as a spectator.

“I have seen many Spurs games, but I haven’t been watching them with the purpose of analysis for our preparation, because we have had so much to deal with first.”

Doesn't come across as arrogant at all, and sounds very level headed and thoughtful. I think he made the step up to Bayern a bit too early in his career. I think he will be different to Conte, in fact the Bayern experience of big egos and politics might work in our favour.

If JN is up for taking the Spurs job then forget about all other candidates and get it done. I just hope the football Gods are kind to us on this occasion.

To follow on from this, you have to look at where Mourinho and Conte were in their respective managerial careers when they took the Tottenham job to where Nagelsmann is and the circumstances surrounding his Bayern departure.

I totally get where people are coming from with regards to a manager actively wanting the role but I don't think an arrogance applies to Nagelsmann with regards to us and if he does have reservations then it's from the hierarchy and the vision they want to create with the manager which from what we've witnessed over the years is 100% valid and absolutely i'd want assurances too.

I really like Slot and (more hope than expectation granted) Gallardo but Nagelsmann is the outstanding candidate for us make no question.

I work at a cemetery in West London and none of what you said seemed made up haha.

Maybe I’m just feeling a bit battered by football recently but I feel that JN would feel like he’s doing us a favour. And, tbh, I’m kinda sick of those sort of managers!
I get what you mean, but, the state our club is in, anyone of sound mind would be doing us a favour. So, go for the best we can.

I hate kicking a man when he's down, but it really needs to be said that Daniel Levy has missed another golden opportunity here. I mean, if he'd only had the foresight to install a skateboard track instead of a go-kart track we'd have JN in the bag.

The secret third manager left on Chelsea’s list is apparently Ange Postecoglou according to The Guardian
Would love that, mainly because when Munn came in I thought id put a little one on Ange coming in, turns out I put it on Chelsea.
No wonder the odds were good

Interesting to see if more reports come out about Nagelsmann in the coming days. Would prefer him to Slot personally

So Chelsea like Ange. I must say I find it rather interesting that it makes pretty much a full house of candidates between them and us as they have supposedly shortlisted or talked to Kompany, Nagelsmann, Kompany, Slot and now Ange. Only Poch is the one outlier.

It’s times like this one wonders if the same people have been recommending the same managers to multiple clubs. Anyway, some may not care but I find it interesting and pertinent to our own search.
