Different levels but Southampton have pretty much agreed their new manager for next season. In fact every team acts swiftly to appoint their next manager because they have a plan and strategy.

I have no idea who Levy consults when he evidently has no consultants at a board/strategic level, but he is driving the football club into the ground by putting business principles ahead of club vision and strategy.

I could not give a single fuck about NFL, Beyonce, the sky walk or the fucking go kart track. That is not the primary purpose of a football stadium. We haven't even got a fucking stadium name yet because he is probably not putting a realistic value on the stadium. 4 years to still not be sponsored.

Yet there Levy goes getting his fucking wage increases whilst looking like fucking Mr Burns making false promises and delivering fuck all in a football sense.

Don't get me wrong he has delivered a stable business but he has not delivered the thing that we as fans should be looking forward to namely trophies and exciting football. Any other business and he would be out on his ear.

Its just not good enough, yet the club continues to be active on social media doing fucking quizzes, yes or no, celebrations of fucking average players and they think that appeases us as fans. Oh I love a random picture of Oliver Skipp. I really love to hear about the exciting 'trophy' that Harry Kane has won such as scoring the most goals with his cock in one season but someone authorises the media team to continue pumping out this shit. Absolute Cocknut.
Southampton also appointed Nathan Jones (and swiftly at the time) so not sure I'd be holding them up as a model of excellence.

I hate him, we have just had two managers who didn't like us. This plonker has all the arrogance without any of the success
Winning the fa cup with a small club like Leicester is not a bad effort. Fell apart this season as the money ran out plus lots of injuries. I think he might end up with us

I've just got in after a long day at work and while I'm trying to wade through the shit-ton of pages that have appeared today, I brief summary would be very much appreciated please.
We were never interested in Slot. Never talked to him. Never wanted him.

Rinse. Repeat.

'hello, is that Antonio?'

'ciao Slotty, what's up?'

'spurs are trying to hire me, what do you think?'

'listen carefully, go to ground, throw away your phone and snap the SIM card, don't access any social media and lay low. If you must go out, out put a wig on and a fake tashe. It'll blow over soon, good luck my friend... Slotty? Hello? You there? Was that breaking glass?'

'oh my god, levy is at the window, he's getting in!'

'vafaanculo! Quick out the back'

'i can't Antonio, theres a strange woman at the back door, she's grinning, it's terrifying Antonio. Help me!'

'theres only 1 chance, remember Indiana Jones? Close your eyes keep them tight shut. You won't see the contract. Ignore their alluring lies and words. They'll just leave eventually. I'm sorry slotty. dis 'appened to me. Be strong!'
Ring ring. Ring ring 'christ mate, it's the special one callin'!'

'g'day special one, it's Posty. How's it going mate?'

'hi Posty. Listen. I've just spoken to Conte. Whatever you do, don't answer the phone. Block up your windows and don't go out'.

'why the fucks that mate? Rolf's dead'.

'no Posty, Levy's coming'

'christ on a bike Jose. What do I do?'

'play dead when he turns up, hire mercenaries, or just find a load of angry wegies scared of losing you toa CT as protection. It might just work. Tell your board not to listen! Good luck'.

'righto. Cheers mate' fuck.

If reports are true, you couldn’t get a better microcosm of all that is wrong with our club than being willing to spend 18M on Rodon, 15M on Spence, but not 15M on your first choice manager you hope will transform the team
Like you say IF the reports are true. But assuming they are then maybe Levy was more interested in Slot because of what he can achieve with a small budget, a underperforming team and the idea he wouldn’t cost much ether with wages or buy out. The moment it became apparent that the price was bigger then anticipated he wasn’t as interesting a candidate.

Obviously that’s a very cynical take and I’m sure there’s more to it than that. But I don’t know why you wouldn’t just pay if he was your number 1 target from the start unless price played a part in your interest, which it shouldn’t.

I think its more about having a plan, a candidate and going for them.

We took about 54 years to bring in Nuno when we got rejected by Roy Kinnear, John Sillett, Neil Warnock, Barbara the cleaner, Fat Sam, Rod Hull, Emu and the guys from Bros (I understand from my sources it was in that order).

I'm not denying we're a shambles , we are.

But there's afew posters showing themselves up as having a real lack of knowledge on some of the remaining candidates.

If all you see in Postecoglu is 'some Australian bloke'and Amorim as 'only 4th in portugal' then do some research.
People going on about how Slot was the saviour because he just won the league with Feyenoord while ignoring Amorim winning the double with Sporting a couple years ago, their first title in almost 20 years.

Really good write up on Ange and how his philosophy/system has changed depending on his squad and competition. Plays very similarly to Slot and Pep currently at Celtic.

For those that are able to give a read through, it may change your mind on him a little bit.

Slot off. Amorim, Enrique, De Zerbi and Ange the remaining candidates. De Zerbi unlikely to leave

Levy’s had a lob on for Rodgers for many years and now he’s got a ‘free’ run at him. This is only ending one way now!

Makes the public ruling out of Nagelsmann a couple of weeks ago even more ridiculous now. That only made sense if they were going to get Slot and knowing he did not have a clause this summer, they should have negotiated his release first before approaching him and being ready to pay more than planned. Same story about why we haven't been able to get deals for major players who ended up being a success elsewhere over the line
The very clear press briefing on this issue was the only thing that got my hopes up about Slot. I thought that his appointment must have surely been a done deal if they were so clearly pushing a narrative that the presumptive favourite wasn’t actually in the running, leading up to Slot’s announcement.

Christ almighty, what in the world were they thinking?

Few bits on Amorim from his Wiki page:

"In mid-September 2019, Amorim was appointed at Braga's reserves in the third tier.[35] Three months later, he replaced the dismissed Ricardo Sá Pinto at the helm of the first team on a two-and-a-half-year contract, with the Minhotos being eighth place in the league at the time of his appointment.[36] In his first game in charge on 4 January, he led them to a 7–1 away demolition of Belenenses SAD,[37] and three weeks later won the domestic league cup final against Porto with a last-minute goal from Ricardo Horta.[38] In the Primeira Liga, on 15 February, Amorim recorded Braga's first win away to Benfica in 65 years"

"Despite only having two months of top-flight experience, Sporting paid €10 million for his services, the third-highest transfer fee for a manager in history. ... Amorim managed to bring an recognisable identity that the club had previously been lacking."

"Following a national record of a 32-match unbeaten-streak, including on 11 May, a 1–0 home win against Boavista, he guided the club to their first league title triumph in 19 years"

Also won 3 consecutive league cups.

The club play this stupid game all the time; flirt with everybody act like billy big bollocks talk about a good time, piss everybody off and be stood at the end of the night with their todger in their hand whilst everyone else goes home with the fit birds/whatever your preference.

We have a pretence in transfer window's that we have a fortnum & mason budget and spend all window chasing the impossible when in reality we shop at Tesco. If that latter is the case then fine but GTF on with it rather than chase someone you can't afford and you know you've no intention/possibility of affording.

When did we become poor as a club? For a club in the top ten of global clubs fiscal's why penny pinch especially with attached managers; they've got a fixed contract or a release fee, you aren't going to alter that fee!

If we've no intention of meeting a release clause stop binning off managers and approaching managers who are still contractually attached to clubs

For shrewd business people that supposedly run the club it also seems they get played a hell of a lot by supposed investors/buyers/player agents etc.

Keep on nickel and diming, pissing off agents, clubs, players and managers and soon you find out no one will work with you!

The list just gets ever longer. We're going to end up with bloody Brenda... although he said he'd never work under Levy.

At what point do DL, DC and anyone else on the board take the hint!

Whomever does come in alongside Munn is going spend a lot of time going around trying to mend fences and restore some integrity.
