Whether this happens or not, and I’m not too confident, I’m willing to bet that next week we hear something about an “unexpected PSG fee” or “sell on clause issues holding this up”. I’d assume there actually are some issues, I just know the way we operate it’s like a wired-up kid studying for finals who does no preparation whatsoever on the type of deal needed.

Once again, people far too easily forget that what we hear from the media and itks is rarely the whole story and, in all likelihood, isn’t even always chronological. So while it might seem to you that Spurs are flailing around amateurishly, it’s highly unlikely that that is a true representation of what is happening. Far more likely is simply that many transfers are indeed complicated; that Spurs operate within certain constraints; that the level of player we are trying to buy often puts us up against clubs with equal or greater resources and attractiveness; that players and agents and selling clubs are all fighting for their own interests as much as we are for ours; and that fans of all clubs get frustrated by protracted or failed pursuits of their clubs’ targets.

Wanyama and van Dijk both played in the Scottish League, so i wouldnt rule out players just based on the league.

Mourinho just said in his press conference as well why would the ST be a "back up" option. Someone surely wants to play with Harry knowing he'll get the bulk of attention. It'd be nice heading to a lower table side and going with 2 up top and taking the match to them.

100% this people need to stop thinking about and calling it a back-up striker, if they’re a top quality player why can’t they plan WITH Harry not just instead of.

Yes we backed out as we weren't sure about something with his knee I believe.
